Would Romney appoint an atheist to a cabinet post? How about the Supreme Court?

Dr Jowers says it is out of character for Mitt to descriminate. That is good to hear.
What is in character is to take several different positions on one issue.
Campaigns do not bring out the best, nor the most common thought. Candidates find themselves dealing with the most active of both Republicans and Democrats. And the most active tend to have very narrow views of solutions to problems. In that environment I would bet that a Candidate who said "no Muslems on my watch" would get a standing ovation in some circles. Most Americans wouldn't think so though.

faith isnt a cabinet post determining factor ... cabinet post appointments must clear background checks and security clearances .. not many Muslim's can do this ... their family trees prevent the FBI from giving passing clearances

I'm generally supportive of Romney, but his comment, if not meant to be religiously biased, certainly appears to have been careless and thoughtless. It's making me take a harder look at him.

Hey Randy, you need to get out of your zip code a little more often. Try a vacation in Morocco next year. A very Muslim country, full of hard working honest people who, for the most part, love Americans. If you want to stay home, try spending some time in Michigan... more hard working Muslims. I know there are democrats there too, but you'll have to consider they are Americans. Bottom line, Islam is simply another religion. I certainly hope the world does not judge Mormons by the FLDS church. Remember, the key word here is FUNDAMENTALIST. Don't cover for Romney. He let his religiously bias cat out of the hat on this one.
