Already enjoying the free trips around the country. Wouldn't it be better if he donated the cost of these trips to the homeless shelters? I thought he was a liberal. How do you spell p h o n e y?

The mayor of SLC should take a regional view, not a provincial view like the recently departed. Becker, as the mayor of the capital and largest city in Utah seems to catch the regional/state vision. Let us hope so.

I've read a lot of ridiculous comments in today's edition but I think Bob's comment should win the gold medal. This is one of those cases where you're darned if you do, darned if you don't. If Mayor Becker wouldn't have gone, I'm sure people would have been upset because Salt Lake would appear
"isolated" or "too arrogant to attend the conference" or something to that effect. Come on, give the guy a break. It wasn't like he went and bought a Porsche or anything like that.
This was a good thing for the city. Quite frankly, I thought it was great that he went and would
have been bothered if he didn't go. It is nice to have someone in the mayor's office that has a some class and is willing to work with others.
