U.S. taxes are among the lowest in the developed world. Please get your facts straight.

Roldand - forget about the developed world. How do our taxes compare to Hong Kong, Singapore, Ireland and Australia? They are the places that money will seek before it comes here. I know that Ireland has a booming pharmacutical industry, and one reason is lower taxes. Not all companies are going somewhere else because of cheap labor. Many go where they are allowed to keep the money they make.

This was an excellent column and I thought the point he made about property rights was excellent. This country is great because of private property rights - not because of democracy (esp. the kind of populism we have now) All you liberals need to remember that when you're telling private business owners that they can't allow smoking in their establishment.
And Roland - evidently you aren't personally paying a lot of taxes or you'd change your tune
