During the past ten days or so we've been told by many ute posters that the utes were "playing the best ball in the league".
You can always tell that a team is playing the best ball in the league when they're looking straight down the barrell of a play-in game to get into the league tournament.

Let's see. The standard line coming from U. of U. is "The refs are to blame." New coach perhaps. The talent is there.

I've always been a Wyoming fan! My dad used to put my brother and I on his knees and sing us the Wyoming fight song.
BTW, "there shall be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth!"

Tom Sawyer found out that two dead cats don't equal one live cat. This game will prove who is the biggest loser, not the winner.

I almost feel bad for the Ute Fans. Just a couple of years ago their football and basketball teams were on top of the world. Now they just keep losing. Go Pokes!

Wyo by 9 today. Too bad Kepkay sprained his ankle, now he'll have to hoist up shots from 3/4 court since he won't be able to run as much. And assistant Marty Wilson leaving for Pepperdine when there are only a few more games left this season? ABANDON SHIP!! ABANDON SHIP!!

I think Utah made a mistake when they hired their coach. Are they stuck now?
Remember | 10:02 a.m. March 1, 2008
Utah is the 10th greatest basketball program in the nation and the second best west of the Mississippi.
You'll all dissappear next year when we return to our historical dominance.

Is Neville and Bryant in the top 25 all-time scorers to be considered in the future among the elite reordered Utes of ALL TIME? Interesting....a couple of no names. I thought that top 100 selection was a bit off base. My thought is that the Utes have considerable recruiting to do to get back to respectability....as close as they came to having a potentially much better record....if they could have reversed the close losses this year. With one assistant lost to Pepperdine...what is the current thinking about future coaching faces, including Boylen? I am a bit worried about Gentlemen versus Lady Ute progress toward championship status in the future....which is next year not years down the road.....as in what have you done for me now...like this year? Come on....not more excuses.....I want results....PLEASE!!!!! I am weary of all the crowing in Provo. We can't hang our hats on Lady Ute gymnastics and basketball forever. What is the problem with all you Cougar bloggers getting on the Utah stories with your nonsense.....get lost! Don't you have anything better to do with your time....you have enough bandwagon articles in the Desert Snuzz to climb on and vent your spleens.
GO UTES!!!!
GO UTES!!!!

In thirty days, here will be weeping and gnashing of teeth on the hill when the mighty Cougars bring home the NCAA Championship trophy and ride triumphantly down State Street.

Marty Wilson did NOT abandon ship. He got an offer he couldn't refuse. They have family there. He knows Pepperdine and they know him. It's a great fit with a great future. He'd be a fool not to take it. Personally, I'd love to see him and his wonderful family remain at the U, but he needs to take opportunity when it knocks. Boylen is a good man and is a real plus for the U. Go Utes!

Enjoy the rest of the season Cougar fans. You all deserve to see your team finish strong and to kick the Utes while they're down.
As a long time Ute fan I'm not worried in the slightest. History shows that not only will the Utes be back to dominance shortly, but that BYU will choke in the ncaa tourney and make a mockery of our league as usual.
Only the Utes and sometimes UNLV have ever done anything to be proud of in the NCAA tourney.
So honestly, best of luck to the Cougs, but I doubt I'll see anything but another crumble out of them in the end.
Boylen will get the right recruits in there and given the time, he'll get it done. Giacoletti was recruiting with Eastern Washington type expectations...Boylen is recruiting with Michigan State type expectations.
We suck this year, that's just the truth. I'll hang with them and hope they can get on a roll...but that being said, I'm ecstatic for football. I've never seen such a loaded squad and can't wait to see them light the entire league up next season.

First, I resent the term "Zoobie". To you Utes, I prefer to be known as the Royal Cougar. Finally the universe is in equilibrium and BYU rules in sports, academics and beautiful coeds. Utah is just a lowly commuter school that must now get used to being mediocre in everything.

Re: Remember | 1:23 p.m. March 1, 2008
Ewe fans are reduced to "Wait til next year and I remember when we were good." Living in the present is painful when you have a bad team and coach.

As if losing to BYU was not bad enough.
They(BYU)win the regular season the last two years
in the only two sports that matter(Football & Hoops). We blanket the newspapers and radio waves with excuses and promises to do better later. Later??? It's later now!!!! WE MUST DO A BETTER JOB OF PREPING OUR PLAYERS FOR BATTLE! The MWC IS NOT A PAC 10 or SEC type conf!! How hard can it really be to get our boys ready for the likes of Vegas in football and any MWC football team???
C'MON....let's get off the excuses and play UTAH football and hoops!!!
NO MORE EXCUSES!!!! PLEASE!

Pokes can't possibly win | 5:21 p.m. March 1, 2008
The Utes are too powerful.
Neville and Bryant will eat the Pokes for dinner.
Utah is still the best team in the conference and will beat the Coogers in the tournament.
