Frustrated with Sloan | 1:49 a.m. March 22, 2008
The truth must be spoken. Jerry Sloan's teams routinely collapse at the end of the season. How many times did the Jazz look like they had a real chance in March only to fizzle down the stretch? Too many with Sloan around.

I Think that Williams and Boozer had better listen a little closer to Sloan. Sure the LA game was just one game, but so was the Minn game and the New Jersey game and the Clippers, I can go on and on. They have not just slipped up once this year, there have been way to many slip ups. This team has some very good players on it, now its time to get focused and perform like we know they can. And stop all of these slip ups !!!

It is easy to throw out generalities about Sloan and how his Jazz teams "routinely collapse," but you offer no data to back your view up, it just your own lame opinion. You tell us the Jazz have "fizzled," well prove it, you are the one claiming they do. Get some facts, instead of spouting unsubstantiated claims from a obviously biased point of view. You are either too lazy or too stupid or both. Too bad you are barely smart enough to fire up a computer and type, too bad for all of us.

Does Sloan own the record for most firt round
NBA eliminations....I am so sick of his negative
attitude and coaching style...does anyone agree.
I am not happy paying a lot of money for these
tickets for almost 30 years now..and we have
no championships......Sloan needs to go....and
we need a new coaching direction.....maybe Horacek
maybe Corbin......but Sloan needs to hit the haystacks..in Illinois

To me, Mr.Sloan knows well his job. He is sure that Jazz will play the playoffs and he is getting ready his players and Jazz fans for the playoffs. He's doing it by 2 ways, mental (experience and passion) and practice on the floor. Everyone will see what is the Jazz with her full healthy players in the playoffs.

"Stop all these slip ups" or "play to win, big?" Intense focus on doing the right thing, that's what wins games. Coach Sloan's comments always sound like he focuses on playing not to lose. You hear Rick Adelman miked in the time-out, screaming "we must lead. we must lead." And on the Jazz side, it looks like alot of bleep bleep bleep, you suck, if you keep it up we're going to lose. I love hearing Boozer and Williams putting the losses behind them and talking about getting their confidence back. Sports is a head trip. Go Booze. Go Will-power. Let her rip!

You're kidding right?? Haven't you watched them on the road at all this year. Maybe you're too stupid to find what channel they are on and watch them Fizzle down the stretch. It happens frequently. The do routinely collapse!! It's a fact Jack! The Jazz should have 55 wins by now, and they would if they played to win instead of playing not to lose!!

No one knows the players and the entire team better than Sloan. That is his job and he does all he can to have a winning team. No one is able to control others and it is up to the individual player to be the best they can be every game, and the entire game. Be ready to do their best playing at a moments notice. The Jazz continue to be the "Best Gig in Town" and we love them.....in spite of what may happen. Support is still the best thing we can do as fans.

Get rid of Sloan? Please remember that BYU wanted Lavell Edwards out because he was too old school and the team wasn't going anywhere. When he decided to retire, they suffered many seasons of bad football with the exception of the first Crowton year. Now that they're winning again, what do we hear, that Bronco is like Lavell. And by the way, how many titles has Adelman won if we're going to compare coaching styles. How about Jackson? He's as negative as they come...he's won 9 titles and will probably get his 10th this year. If the Jazz lose, it's not because of Sloan...it's because they're extremely soft defensively down low. If they lose, it's because they don't heed to Sloan's pleadings to play harder and tougher, especially on the D end. It's not Sloan.

I get a kick out of young pro players who think a "run" against weak teams means they'll make up some ground. If you look at the 9 teams in the West that are vying for 8 playoff spots, what their current schedule is, what they have left, against who, and how many on the road, if each team maintains their current percentages of winning on the road and at home, very little will change from the current lineup.
For Boozer and Williams to think they're in a good place is just the kind of thinking that'll get them tromped on, such as by LA last night.
The Jazz players are too young to realize what's going on. They very likely won't have home court advantage in any playoff series. Hopefully, they'll learn from it this year and have the better attitude next.
Sloan sees this. He's been around long enough to realize what's happening. Sloan-haters can say what they want, but Sloan knows the business. And he's right about the fact that the Jazz aren't anywhere near sewing up a playoff spot just yet.

effort | 2:09 p.m. March 22, 2008
I find DW's and Boozer's comments quite amusing since they are two of the biggest culprits about having no energy or effort the other night. If you can't get yourself motivated to play in a game that big, then what is your problem.
And of course they're going to try to be optimistic, otherwise they'd have to accept some responsibility for the lack of energy and effort- and they do no wrong (in their own heads). Come out with no effort, get waxed by the lakes and then say thet you're in a really good position. How funny.
A loss isn't that big of a deal if you lose because you played your hardest and just missed some shots- but when you come out with no defense and hustle, it's unacceptable (like at NJ, Chi-town, nearly Milwaukee, Minn., Clippers, etc.).
Wake up people and smell the early exit coming.

Boozer, D-Will should use a little caution when making statements like they have unless they both plan on doing their share of DEFENSE in these upcoming games. If they play like they did against the Lakers and allowed Kobe Bryant to slam dunk in their house and get angry at the fans in the stands then it will be an early exit. If they can't figure this out then there is something definitely wrong with them. AND NOT FORGETTING MEMO....the worst defender ever. Probably on a par with THE TAG...remember him?
I love the Jazz...come on guys play like you really can!!!! GO JAZZ!!!

Nothing to do with this, but I felt like the Jazz bench and role players cost them that game.Booz and Williams will run their plays and get their stats even when they lose. It's everybody else that must bring the hunger to win everygame.Forget about booz and williams they will play hard everynight to a degree because of them thinking their allstars. The rest of the Jazz need to play with an attitude of loving what you do win or lose.
Memo was starting to get some attitude back then he got sick.Brewer has disappeared? Probably worrying about minutes instead of giving everything he has for everyminute he gets.Michael Jordan was great because he gave heart and soul to every game, every minute, even when losing or down by twenty you never saw that passion to play leave his eyes.
I might have to watch the game again but I don't remember seeing to many Jazz players in a heavy sweat or sucking air.Maybe their saving it for the playoffs. And Deron needs to work even harder than he is to get everybody involved forget about 10-12 assists how about 20-22.

All of you nay-sayers please go to ESPN and the NBA standings and compare our team with the rest of the NBA teams and their record compared to ours then shut your holes, because there is a lot of us out here that quite frankly are sick and tired of your stupid negative blogs. Is there anything in your lives that you are happy with? I doubt it. Do you hate your mother and dad? Do you hate your religion? Do you hate for the sun to come up? Get over it.

You can compare records all you want, but that has never won anyone a championship.
Jazz have won over sixties games and still not won a championship. With 2 of the 50 supposedly greatest players of time no less.
If they couldn't do it, it's silly to think boozer can.

Take this to the Bank. the jazz will be in the play-off's. thats all we can hope for this season. next season will be different. Slone will be tilling the soil back in the land of Lincoln, and Jeff hornecek, will be the new coach. John Stockman just might come out of retirement and be a player in the operations dept. don't fret to much about this season, next will be better. now head for the Bank !!!
