I think it very appropriate to have the superdelegates have the power to decide who the next Democratic Presidential Candidate will be. There comes a time when delegates with experience and political wisdom can look at the big picture, rising above the petty insults and superficial campaign rhetoric in order to choose its Party's candidate who is the strongest and most likeliest to win in November. Personally, I feel that the differences between Obama and Clinton are so narrow compared to the real policy differences between the Democrats and Republicans that most Americans will probably be able to support either Obama or Clinton should they be looking for an alternative to the present political party in office.

PLease note Re: Texas delegates - Clinton did not win Texas!!!

Here's the skinny.
Looking at this as a neutral party it is clear that Hillary is trying to burn down the village so that Obama will not inherit it as he wins. Obama is not burning down the village, or even a house in the village. But Hillary is busy tossing matches!
Apparently, when the bubble burst and Hillary found herself in second place she decided to torch the place. Obama has been cool. Hillary has been hot, cold, up, down, used Bill to be the bad cop, sent him to places where she was not going to win, etc.
Obama's surrogate? Maybe his wife. But that backfired as people misunderstood (some on purpose) her remarks. So it is still Obama against the world.
Richardson has shown up at the right time and Obama feels good again. Richardson might even be the vp on the ticket. An interesting move indeed!!
Does Obama owe Hillary a vp slot? No. She has set fire to the democrat chances and called him every name in the book. He owes her nothing. Demo women are not going to vote for McCain, so they will come home to Obama. Guaranteed.
The Shadow Knows.

They are going to unite the country? They can't unite there own party.
Democratic? | 9:14 a.m. March 23, 2008
They why let the people choose at all? Wouldn't it be far easier to just let the Party annoint a candidate?

What do you expect when the primary distinction between the candidates is based on their position in the demographics of a certain segment of the party.
So do we leave it up to the superdelegates who are waiting to see which way the wind is blowing?
"That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive."

Hillary is awful quiet about the passport thing. Why? Because if she gets upset, she has to include Obama as an equal in the "we are victims" speech. And she is trying hard to seperate Obama from her and McCain.
Hard for her to know what to do on this issue.
How about be outraged for you, Obama, and JOhn since someone obviously is criminally snooping into govt. files?
Sometimes Hillary you are too transparent.

Obama's minister hates America....His wife is only proud of America for the first time this year...These are the people he surrounds himself with....I don't think he is a good choice
re: hey | 9:49 p.m. March 23, 2008
What you say makes perfect sense. So, I am sure plenty of people will say you are full of hate or you don't get it. I agree with you, Obama surrounds himself with some questionable people with questionable feelings about America.

Nick: Just so you know hon....Hillary won the Texas primary and Obama won the Texas caucas. NOTE...THERE ARE NO CAUCASES IN THE GENERAL ELECTION IN NOVEMBER. Obama will lose easily to McCain in CA, MA, OH, PA, FL, MS, SC, NC, and the list goes on. If you wanted a democrat then you should have laid off the Obama K00l-aid because just as I have been saying for 3 months now this election goes to either Hillary or McCain. If Obama is the nominee then McCain wins easily. Even I a lifetime democrat will vote for McCain over Obama. Sorry young voters but we are not electing a Frat President here.

Actually, at this point, if Hillary gets the nomination, I'll either sit out the election or vote for McCain. She lies blatantly about her 'experience', she has now put off by another 3 days the release of her tax returns, she still has not published her earmarks. I do not want to see a series of dynastic presidencies.
When an Obama supporter makes a statement beneath the dignity of a clean campaign, that supporter immediately stands up and apologizes. When a Clinton supporter does the same, they spend days justifying their own actions and accusing others of misrepresentation. I'd rather have someone who can openly admit error and try to make amends; than someone who thinks I'm stupid enough to believe that the responsibility for their actions lies anywhere by on their own shoulders.

Obama did end up with more delegates than Hillary in Texas and in the primaries that is what matters. She's going to have a heck of a time surpassing him in the delegate count or the popular vote in the rest of the primaries. Obama will take blue states still in the general election and don't count out purple states. If Hillary does get the nomination I will vote for her, even though I love Obama and I believe he would be a great president. McCain is more war and more Bush, I don't think most democrats want that, neither do a lot of independents. I'm 36, not so old but not so young either.
