I agree with the article Transformers was an awesome movie.

I saw the movie two months ago. It was a good blow'em up movie. However - given that three residential buildings with over 300 residents witnessed the filming - the movie contained very few surprises.

I would add that Cloverfield was my favorite of the year. The week the "army crews" took over Main and Spring street - they were great. Very courteous, did their night filming early in the evening, wrapped when their permit said they would. I was more than happy to be there on opening night at midnight.
