I remember as a boy in the 70's hearing about inflation all the time. For some reason it is taboo to talk about it. It doesn't take long at a grocery store to figure out that you are paying way more and getting way less. I am starting to see now how hunger can become a problem. When candy is individually wrapped and packages and appear to have way more than what is actually inside them. Open a bag of Chips and you find nothing but air. Several years back they removed taxes, fuel, and food from the inflation calculation. What a brilliant move by the government. Now, they do not have to increase social security benefits at the true rate. I would say inflation is more like 20 to 30%. How can our older generation survive? They live on fixed incomes that will hardly pay for cat food.
