I went to the caucus in my district. It was the first time for me. I was elected vice chair for my precient, because I felt I didn't have enough experience to be the chair person. I will be attending other Democratic functions in the future and will learn more about the process. I am also going to be a delegate at the Davis County convention. It is a great experience.

Good for Maureen!

One year over 100,000 people attended the caucuses between the two parties. So when people talk about the caucuses and convention not representing the people, that isn't accurate.

The best part about the whole process, starting with tens of thousands of people participating, is that intimate nature of it. Candidates don't get to hide behind 30 second commercials. They have to sit in front of small crowds of people for 2 and 3 hours at a time and answer direct questions with direct answers.

As a side note this is why so many Republican delegates are upset with Huntsman. In the hundreds of little meetings he held, he represented himself VASTLY different then he is now, especially on environmental issues.

Anyway, yesterday was another great day in life of freedom!
Great if you can find them | 6:26 a.m. March 26, 2008
I did not attend the caucuses because I did not have any idea where they were. They used to be held at a house in my neighborhood and then were held at a local elementary school. This year I did not know where they were and did not go. It is great that people can go, but I wish there were a better way go advertise the locations.

My husband and I went to our first Democratic caucus last night. We wanted to see how things worked on the grass roots level. It seems like a healthy process.

I hope there were many more Democratic caucuses held around the state - we need change and people need to understand that just because you align yourself with democratic party ideas, you aren't a bad person and you are still a good church member.
No excuse | 4:11 p.m. March 26, 2008
There was no excuse for not going because you could not find them. There were multiple stories in the paper yesterday with a web link where anyone can go and look up where their caucus was. You just didn't try very hard-
