Anonymous has obviously never disagreed with Mr. Crockett. Those who have been on the receiving end of Crockett's tirades know he is anything but civil.

Yes, Mark can be "aggressive" defending his points. But he's never rude, crass, or anything uncivil...just adamant.

Crockett is one of the smartest people serving in politics today. Follow the money! He is not tied to speical interest groups, developers, beholden to specifc mayors who simply want to divert Salt Lake County money to their city and their city only. If Crockett gets impassioned over an issue - at least we know he cares. I wish the guy would run for Congress.

I'm in a pickle. I know Mark Crockett from being a county delegate four years ago and weighing in with him on issues since then, and I know Mrs. Iwamoto from neighborhood things.
I wish I could support them both, but since I can't I'll go with Crockett. I've agreed with almost every one of his votes. I've found him to be smart, civil, and good at listening, communicating and building consensus.
Jani is also friendly, capable, and would do a fine job. I suspect that her votes would oppose my views much more often, though. I also think she's spreading herself too thin and that her children would suffer as a result. I don't want to vote for that. (I know that's a strange rationale for a vote, but it's my vote and I'll make it how I want. :)

Here we go again...the woman cannot serve because it would be a disservice to her children, but the man can have a job that frequently takes him out of town, yet his children will not suffer if he serves.
Crockett has young children (younger than Iwamoto's) that need him just as desperately. As a stay at home mom, I think hers will suffer less from her service than his will from his.

crockett is rude | 11:44 a.m. March 26, 2008
i can give four examples of crockett being uncivil. 1)he got so angry during a discussion with jenny wilson, crockett almost hit her. 2)he got so mad at his assistant that he hit his desk and broke it. 3)during the debate on spliting school districts, he treaten to take off joe hatch's glasses and hit him. 3)during a debate,he tried to discredit a witness by calling him rich. crockett is smart and a hard worker but he is also very rude.
I know this guy... | 3:11 p.m. March 26, 2008
I would trust him with my life. He is honest, smart, and passionate. He was the first person to really speak out against the soccer stadium.

Jani Iwamoto is a one of a kind, very precious human being. I have known her for most her life and she is a kind, compassionate, caring, generous, bright and committed person. She is very family oriented and has two beautiful and talented children and a successful husband who is 100 percent supportive of her candidacy. She is nonjudgmental and willing to listen, research and make decisions on what is best for the people she represents and the community at large. For me, she is a breath of fresh air needed in our society.

This statement itself is hypocritical since the incumbent is civil and the statement is not.
Maybe the now ex-candidate can cite examples of Mark Crockett's incivility.
You may disagree with Crockett's positions (for example, you may think using tax dollars for a soccer stadium is a good thing, which Crockett doesn't), but it's definitely a stretch to say Crockett is uncivil.
