Gira-who? Korver is a great trade and has really performed. He adds consistency in shooting and seems to simply be a good person. Jazz management should be pleased with the outcome.

I have been disapointed for some time while they haven't been getting the ball to Korver when he has been, open last night all through the 2 second quarter he was open many times and was not getting ball or they don't leave him in long enough to get in rythum of game, At least he did get some good time in 2 and 4th quarter last night

K2 was a nice p-up, but let's quell the enthusiasm a little folks. I was at the game and the "Kyle...Korver" cheers got pretty annoying. The guy was 3 of 7. If the guy had Memo's eyebrow awning, Kirilenko's pyramind cheekbones, or Fess's baby-ruuuuth body we'd be cheering the real leaders of our team, i.e. D-Will, Booz, Memo...heck...all the starters had better games than he did. It's almost a slap in the face of our all-star caliber players that we give so much adulation to a one-trick pony. Again, I'm glad to have him...but a little perspective would be nice.

Even when Kover is not hitting his shot, he stills spreads the floor. When he is on the floor, his man is playing him tight. Even when he's not hot other teams are smart enough to not leave him alone, because they know he can go off on them at any time.

Agreed with Riles. He's a key addition no doubt, but did Jazz fans ever chant Hornacek's name? No way with Malone and Stockton around. They were the motor with Hornacek being an important part of the team, but not the motor.
Anthony | 11:21 a.m. March 26, 2008
I make motors for a living. As important as they are, they DO need other PARTS to get the job done. Nice team work Jazz~

Why are so many Jazz Fans such naggers!! Always nagging the team or complaining about something. Seriously. Enjoy the team's success and give your buddies some good feedback instead of NAGGING NAGGING AND COMPLAINING!! They are professionals as they are human. They know sometimes they mess up and could have/should have played better! Why don't YOU go out there and play for the Utah Jazz if you know so much about what they should do! NAGGERS!!
GO JAZZ!!!
GO JAZZ!!!

Lets see him play defense and then talk about his shooting. Great to score 10 but to give up 20 from not getting back on defense, or making stupid reach fouls.

I know right whats with all the nagging? you would think we lost the game? wow jazz fans. Korver has impressed me of late with his defense. Ya'll forgetting the blocks he's getting? the steals he's been getting lately. remember when he blocked dirk? How many Charges has he taken? to me he just as good as any other jazz player playing defense. Stop nagging and go jazz!
Korver | 12:45 p.m. March 26, 2008
plays solid defense, he tries to stay in front of his man and does not play defense from the side or behind. sure he gets beat once in a while, but who does not. He always gives his all and hustles. I think people like that. Harpring, Brewer, Milsap, Price do the same. I would rather see some one make hustle mistakes than see them not playing their hardest all the time. Go Jazz!

9:19, 10:09. You're right, but you're also wrong. Sure, the stars deserve the credit and should be cheered. But it's no secret that the Jazz have been one of the best teams in the league since we acquired him. He was a very important addition to our team and we need to let him know that we appreciate him and that we have confidence in him. Also, when we cheer for Korver when he makes his threes we're sending a message to Jerry Sloan that Korver needs to be shooting the ball. We need to have three point shooters. So far Korver has had confidence shooting and it doesn't seem that Jerry has gotten after him. Let's hope it stays that way.

Korver makes a great.
To be a good team you need role players. He is a steve kerr, jeff hornecek type player with two advantages. He is taller and a better defender.
When your ahead by 1 pt at the end of the game there is nobody I want to see more than Korver at the free throw line.
The one thing I dislike is that sometimes he gets his shot off too fast. He needs to wait for wide open shots where he can take a little more time. And people need to look for him more when he is wide open as it happens quite often.
Just for fun.
Percentage wise the best 3pt shooters on the jazz this year are.
CJ 40.3%
Deron 39.9%
Korver 39.5%
Hart 37.9%
Memo 37.8%
AK 37.5%

Hornacek has been tutoring Korver a bit. He has told him to put more arch on his shot. Let's see if he makes that a consistent change.
Re: dr28 | 1:29 p.m. March 26, 2008
I thinks fans are so happy to have a 3 point shooter that they can go a little overboard. sloan has fought so hard against having a guy like Korver, that it is very refreshing to have the real threat of the 3 pointer at anytime. I know that Korver has his weaknesses, but it will be nice to have him in the playoffs when scoring will be needed against the better teams.
Good Job | 1:35 p.m. March 26, 2008
I am glad that the Jazz picked up Korver. He is a great threat when left open and it spreads the floor for Dwill Booz and Memo. He is a great role player and will hopefully help the Jazz to do well in the playoffs and hopefully do as well and better than last year. Congrats to him for hitting some key shots in the waning moments of the game and keep it up.
An Asian Perspective | 2:02 p.m. March 26, 2008
Kover is a good addition to the Jazz. No doubt about it. That being said, however, I still think he's a bit overrated. I often see him going 0 for 4 or 0 for 5 early in the game and still get a chance to start 4th quarter or play significant minutes in 4th (If Giri did the same thing, Sloan would have benched him for the rest of the game.)
I think Sloan has a bit too much confidence or patience in Kover. Going into playoff, it's dangerous to rely on low-percentage shots like 3 pointers in the critical minutes of the game no matter how reliable the shooter is.
In fact, Kover missed 2 3-pointers in the final minutes against New Jersey and Jazz lost. Against Lakers, Kover went 0 for 5 or 6 in the first half, still played in the 4th quarter, but he couldn’t get open as he was literally face-guarded by Vujacic and he was nothing but a defensive liability in the zone.
If he didn’t make the first of three 3 pointers last night, Jazz could have lost another game to one of the worst teams in the league.

ya sloan has confidence in him sure he struggles but did you see when the cats got within three and once he starting draining those threes it got the rest of the team involved. sloan knows that hes a shooter and shooter have to keep shooting.
JazzFan4ever | 3:45 p.m. March 26, 2008
I think some people are forgeting about the little things that korver brings to the table as well. That might be why sloan still has him on the floor. To me, he stays with what the Jazz are trying to do as a team and really seems to be a team player. Don't forget that even if he misses as long as he is stretching the floor it really helps others on offense. One last thing, wasn't korver in with brewer at the same time? That was interesting small ball lineup for the Jazz.Boozer at center and AK at Power forward with brewer and korver at SF SG.I will have to watch the game again...
Anoymous | 5:19 p.m. March 26, 2008
Kyle Korver, keep on shooting 3's. Your good at it and make it look so easy but I know it's not. I know coach is happy. Make it a foursome out on the floor. DWILL, BOOZER, OKUR and KORVER.

Cal---I cringe every-time I hear Hot Nob say his name! Seriously, can sometime help give him a phonics lesson, or better yet, take the microphone away from him!
I'm a huge Korver fan, & there's no arguing the Jazz are better with him, but it would really open things up more if he would stop thinking he's in the church league champtionship and has to shoot it every-time he touches it, mix in a pass once in a while, throw poor Ronnie or AK a bone every now and then (since you know D-Will isn't looking for them unless it's for a wide open dunk or alley-oop)and Sloan may keep you on the floor longer than the short cameos you've been starring in!
Ute's rule!
