BAN FIGHTING DOGS | 2:52 p.m. March 27, 2008
Just another example of why we should ban all of these "fighting" dogs. I know that any dog can be dangerous, but these dogs are meant for only one purpose--killing. Here, an owner was trying to be responsible, but the viscious animal escaped and could have killed someone.
I hope the animal was destroyed. But, I doubt it, given our "one free bite" policy.
Regardless of your experiences with some sweet pit bull, the fact remains these are killers, that almost always eventually snap, and when they do...there will not always be a courageous Boy Scout around to protect you or your family. Why risk it? Unless of course, you are trying to protect your drug house and/or street cred.

Good vs Bad Dogs | 11:01 p.m. March 27, 2008
It is not the dog that just became mean and decided to attack. Any dog can do that. It depends on how they are raised. Yeah the people had it in a kennel, that doesn't mean they were being responsible. Maybe they go out and fight with the dog every day to make it mean. There is a little Min Pin that lives by me, and it is a mean little cuss. I worry about my little dog getting to close to it. I am sure it could hurt my dog. Pit bulls are mean if the human owners make them mean. My best friends pit bull is a sweet heart. And would protect his family if needs be. He looks big and mean, but he isn't. He stayed right by my side when I fell down some stairs and pulled the ligiments in my ankle over Christmas, he heard me scream and came running down to see if I was ok. And slept in the room with me after that. It is humans that make dogs mean!
Do your research on the bree | 10:55 a.m. March 28, 2008
Before you make an ignorant comment like "the fact remains these are killers, that almost always eventually snap" Have you done any research at all. Compare the number of incidents with the number of pit bulls in the population and you will see that it is minimal. The problem is the media always exploting the breed to get a story that shock factor. People that make remarks such as these need to do their research and actually be around good responsibly owned pit bulls and then make an informed decision. This dog was an outside dog, with probably no socialization what so ever. The dog ins't to blame, the owner is
