What?

As may articles on RSL that Brad has written that are horrible and mean-spirited; I'd have to say that this one was actually news, and worth reading. I think you're really stretching if you're trying to call him a racist for using the term "footbal, er, futbol" in a sentence when he's transitioning from the Blaze to Real. It was no more than a clever way to change topics in the middle of an article.

I to was surprised that Brad wasn't as bad in this article. I give him credit for that even though his other RSL articles were horrible. Even though Brad doesn't like soccer, he understands the woes of new sports teams. It is true that true fans are ready for a winning season, but we will always be loyal.

Brad,
Much better, it's nice to see that you can write something without taking too many lame cheap shots at soccer.
Don't fear it, instead, ask yourself why each new American generation seems to embrace it more and more?... or why the World has crowned it the most popular sport on the planet?
I'm sure there's enough substance to you that if you tried hard enough you might be able to see what what the other 6 billion people on this earth see in it.
Unlike in your marriage, in sports, you can have many mistresses... it's okay to love football and futbol. ;-)
Cheers!

Brad - You actually wrote a great article. I support the Blaze and Real, both American Footbal and World Football (futbol). Thanks. - futbol is not a racist term and used quite a bit with the US soccer folk.
I appreciate the neutral approach to the article.

soccer? ita a waste of time even writing about futbal er soccer or what ever you call it.
I just couldnt see myself wasting money taking my family to see 2 teams batteling it out for 3 hours for a thrilling 1-1 tie and to see rsl lose almost all of its games to find out they still got a shot at the playoffs...lol. what kind of circus are they running? iI would have gone to a wnba game anytime rather then ever spent a cent to see this boooring game. i always figured soccer was for little girls.
and i do know that RSL will be a massive failure.there is plenty of other things to do this summer....like watch paint dry
gg soccer

Well Done | 12:49 p.m. March 28, 2008
Finally an article that put aside any personal dislike for RSL. That must have been an interesting staff meeting in the D-News sports Dept. Good Job!

B.Rock,
I ripped you for your negative slant in past RSL articles and I vowed I wouldn't read any more, but a coworker mentioned you did "well" with this one so I read it. I appreciate you giving it a fair shake. RSL fans are loyal but that doesn't mean we aren't harsh ourselves. We love our team despite the frustrating first few seasons. Take a look at the various RSL blogs. We are hungry for a winning, playoff season. We are cautiously optimistic but will continue to support & defend our club. Thank-you for the article.

Bigotry??? | 2:17 p.m. March 28, 2008
Are you serious? Bigotry for saying futbol while transitioning from talking about American football? I sure hope you were kidding and trying to get a rise out of people for calling that bigotry.
B-Rock, I love your articles. Keep up the good work.

Finally | 4:37 p.m. March 28, 2008
Brad Rock appears to have gotten some class when speaking about soccer. It's about time.
Re: pfft | 5:52 p.m. March 28, 2008
Wow so writing about soccer is a waste of time wow you must have a pointless useless life if you have to not only read articles about soccer but then you have to take time out of your pathetic life and make fun of such a beautiful game, why don't you just go back to sicking in front of the tv every sunday which fat boys try and tackle each other over a little boy. If you knew anything about the game you would know how precious and beautiful the game can be. Go Real

ya i liked this article, not only because brad didnt tear rsl down, but he soundedd like he knew what he was talking about for once (in relation to rsl). maybe he needs to always include a sport he likes in the article when writing about soccer.

Georgia had the AFL's second best record last year, but the Blaze will win tonight and leave the goose egg behind.
Go Blaze!
Go Blaze!
Futbol | 2:58 p.m. March 29, 2008
FC Dallas is officially short for "Futbol." MLS's ad campaign for the season is "Futbol, Football, Soccer." So unless MLS is being racist too. . .

What is that supposed to mean? Football was believed to be first played in China, and the football we know today was truly conceived and born in England, which is part of Great Britain. What you call futbol is a bastardization of the english word football in Spanish originated from the poor masses of Latin America.
Is this just another form of racist rhetoric by local newspapers about soccer?
