What a beautiful tribute -- it made me cry! I lost my mother to Alzheimer's so I know how difficult it is. Thank you for sharing and I am sorry for your loss.

Wow Cathy you are such an awesome writer! Your words made me cry too. I had one of those last moments with your Dad too. He was a great man and a loving step-father to me. We should all stop to enjoy those split pea moments in our lives, a little more often! Love your sister, Holly

I'm so sorry about your loss, but what a beautiful tribute to your father. I'm glad that you wrote about him. I think a lot of people (like myself) can relate because so many of our parents have memory loss. Thanks for bringing this problem home to all of us in such a nice way!
