Why shouldn't enviros stop development? After all it is their private property, isn;t it?

The BLM and the Forest Service have a long history of mismanaging the properties that they've been given stewardship. Unfortunately, letigation is the only tool that these groups have to ensure that the public agencies are obeying the law. I don't pretend to know the percentage of how often these actions are overturned, but I do know that it's over zero and may even be as high as 50%.

Since the property in question is my land also then I want my gas that is under it. If you don't want yours then I'll take it also.

Can't help feel a shotgun approach is being used now to try and stop anything that's not going to fund the pockets of the "green" lobby.

Resouces are just that resources to be used and we can't live without them. Massive amounts of damage were done mining gold and many lives were lost in cotton production but I don't see them moaning about those resources being continued.

Each project should be examined on it's own merits now not on the past. The sort of drilling that Vane Minerals want to do in the Forest area is about as safe as it gets. Yet because the resource start with a U some run and hide under the bed.
