Utah is now only one of four states that gives any kind of driver's license to illegal aliens. There is such strong support from the cheap labor lobbyists that the governor and the legislature refuse to deal with this. After all the cheap labor illegal aliens have to be able to drive to work, and that is what this is about. The only "compassion" involved here is for the profit of the cheap labor employers that own the legislature. The democrats are not a factor, even though they all support illegal immigration, it is the republican leadership, especially the governor and the Utah Senate.

Cost was the least of most people's concerns over REAL ID. While presented as the magic bullet for illegal immigration, it was in reality a trojan horse to a national ID card that would harm legal residents more than it would ever help with illegal immigration. The same folks who refuse to build a fence, and who refuse to enforce the laws already on the books, are the same ones pushing for REAL ID. We shouldn't adopt it even if its free.

Sen. Bramble HAS NOT done a thing about figuring out how to rid our voter registration roles of these criminal illegal aliens who used Motor-Voter to register when the DL was available to them. Nothing. Nada! According to the audit numbers Sen. Bramble asked for, we still may have somewhere in the neighborhood of 70,000 criminal illegal aliens registered to vote - and perhaps voting.
I am still waiting for Sen. Bramble to resolve this particular dilemma - that he HAS TO BE aware of! I won't hold my breath, though, because I seriously doubt that his smoke and mirror position about being opposed to illegal immigration is actually a fact. After all, what has he really done to aid in solving this particular problem? Ummmm? Nothing!
To those that claim he eliminated their right to a DL, remember that it was presented - and was part of killing an out-and-out repeal of them getting a DL - at all!
