I think it needs to be Obama and Governor Richardson of New Mexico. That man has experience beau-coupe!

If McCain wins, it really matters because he has no chance of living till the end of his term.

Whomever he picks, better be ready to be in charge one day.

I think we should elect Obama tho, because its time for America to go down, and I can't think of anyone stupider, and better qualifed to stand around and let it happen.

To Bart, I agree Governor Richardson would be an excellent choice for VP.

Also, whoever McCain chooses as his VP will be absolutely critical! 72 is an age most people are long retired, not just starting a new job, let alone the most strenuous job in the world.

I know the VP immediately takes over if the president dies, but what happens if the president starts going senile? Do we have a protocol for that? If so, is it quick and painless, or long and drawn out? Does anyone know?

If Obama were to select Clinton as VP I would suggest that he hire a food taster. Except for the death of the president, it would be insane for someone with their eye on the presidency to be the VP for the next administration. It appears that we are headed for the "perfect storm," a disaster as far as the economy, war, illegal immigration, and trade are concerned. The VP is a good jumping point to the presidency for a successful administration, but would be a disaster for the VP of a failed administration. The next administration could be a failure like the Carter Administration. Who was Carter's VP? hmmm. The Constitution has given the VP of a living president less power and influence than the mayor of South Jordan, unless it is delegated to him/her by the president.
Well, I disagree | 10:02 p.m. April 20, 2008
Mr. Pignanelli, I wholly disagree with you as usual. There are a great many people whose heads are firmly attached who happen to think that Mr. Romney is a great choice for the VP slot. He is well rounded, got a huge amount of votes and is really quite popular in bright circles. His buisness acumen alone is worthy of a great look. If McCain wants votes, he better think about who people really did support among those that are not the nominee. By a huge number, that was Romney. He brings alot to the combination too. He is classy, honest, integral, moral, courageous, gracious and humble. This country really needs those things.
