Mitt's "top ten", including the spoof on overestimating the importance of Utah to his campaign as the No. 1 "reason", was hilarious. It was a very creative speech and showed the human side of Mitt in a very favorable light. It also takes a lot of self confidence to cause people to laugh at you rather than batter other candidates.

Yikes, Mitt has transformed himself into a loose, happy go lucky guy. With Romney, you never know what you are going to get!

If you watch the youtube of the event, Romney was very funny. He got laughs for 9 of the 10.

Thanks Mitt ! | 7:07 a.m. April 18, 2008
Now I can get some things done since Mitt will take up the slack in making fun of Utah and himself. I don't have time to make fun of all the things that need to be made fun of.
Re: liberal larry | 7:23 a.m. April 18, 2008
Mitt hasn't "transformed" anything. He has always been a "well rounded" individual who is serious about serious issues but also knows how to have a good time when it is appropriate. A "well read" individual would already know that!

I am more convinced that Mitt will make an excellant VP for McCain.Look it,Mitt knows how to raise money,he would be a great advisor on the Economy. Also, he can carry to "Blue States" in the general election, Massachucetts, and Michigan, his original home state. He is probably the MOST qualified of all the candidates. I really think he has an incredible shot at the VP.
Are You Kidding | 8:31 a.m. April 18, 2008
Mitt Romney IS the class act in politics! There is a reason they have not come up with dirt on him, there is none! He has always been a man of integrity, honesty, high morals, AND HE GETS THINGS DONE RIGHT! Our country lost the Republican Primary race, not Mitt Romney! Lets just hope there are enough pieces left to pick up in 2012! I'm afraid we will be begging him to run then. Mitt in 2012!

Mitt is a class act and should be president!

The Spectrum is always behind in the news. I read this yesterday in a Salt Lake News Paper. Worthless newspaper.

The self-deprecating humor worked. The shot he took at Gore was tasteless and graceless.

Does anyone think Romney *could* win a Noble prize? I don't think they have a category for selling off businesses and putting people out of work.
Rob | 10:07 a.m. April 18, 2008
Dear Anonymous: What a sore person you must be. Romney made fun of a few people, mostly himself. You must be a riot to hang aroung, Mister serious. Oh, by the way, I will bet anything Mitt Romney has created more jobs in the US then lazy, fat, hairy Al Gore. I know you will not put any money down on that. Have you ever heard of Staples, Sports Authority and few more dozen companies Mitt help start. Name me one company that employees that many people Al, Hillary, Obama or Bill started. How about all four of them put together. Yea, I didn't think so. TRUTH HURTS HUH!
??? | 10:18 a.m. April 18, 2008
How many different ways can you present this same, lame story?
CLASS ACT look it up | 10:22 a.m. April 18, 2008
You'll see Gov Romney's picture next to the definition.
Noble prize ? | 10:26 a.m. April 18, 2008
Sure. In Economics! For saving businesses and as many of the jobs as could be saved. Liberals don't get that someone in the world has to actually DO something, we can't all run around pontificating about the enviroment.
hey ??? | 10:50 a.m. April 18, 2008
we can't get enough MITT !
moleman | 11:25 a.m. April 18, 2008
As a lifelong Democrat---I thought his poke at Al Gore was hysterical.

I'm sure Mitt has won many "noble prizes".

If you're talking about *Nobel* Prizes - there, you have a point. But then, it apparently isn't very hard to get one these days if you say the right things to the right people in the right way.
Houston | 12:52 p.m. April 18, 2008
Wow! Gov Mitt Romney is a good sport and has a sense of humor as well! What else can I say! Senator McCain, do the 'right' thing. Offer the VP to Governor Mitt Romney. Hopefully, he will accept.
Yes Mitt VP 2008!
Romneys joke is accurate | 1:17 p.m. April 18, 2008
Romneys joke regarding gore is accurate. Gore did get fat did grow a beard and won the not so Nobel prize for the so called man made global warming hoax that is making him millions of dollars and that anyone with the common sense to at least look at the other side could see that hundreds of well qualified and highly educated and world renowned scientists, climatoligists, and meteorologists disagree with global warming. You dont hear about them in the main stream media because liberals and democrats are fully invested now in the scare tactics of so called global warming.
thanks Doug | 1:30 p.m. April 18, 2008
you read my mind
RangerGordon | 2:36 p.m. April 18, 2008
As soon as a Nobel Prize was awarded to a (gasp!) environmentalist, suddenly anticonservationists decided the Nobel Prize wasn't that great of an honor after all ... how convenient.

Still, Mitt doesn't have one, and Al Gore does.

go mitt go!!
No, actually . . . | 3:33 p.m. April 18, 2008
. . .when Carter got one that about trashed it for us
Not a Fan | 3:45 p.m. April 18, 2008
I admit I'm not a Mitt lover but it was pretty funny. Good for him. I especially like #1.:)
Alice from TX | 4:18 p.m. April 18, 2008
Those against MITT are just jealous. He has everything and you got nothing. He is a self-made multi-millionaire. He did not take any salary when he was governor of Massachusetts and took only a dollar for turning around the UTAH Olympics, which at that time in 2002 was almost bankrupt and ridden with corruption and scandals.(Sounds familiar? or similar to the USA economic situation now?).
His lifestyle and family life is an almost perfect conservative life. He doesnt drink alcohol not even beer, non-smoker, non-gambler, and has only one wife Ann for 29 years. Never divorced, has five sons and 11 grandchildren. Did anyone in the Romney family thought of abortion?. or divorce? They are more conservative than me, a lifelong conservative.
So I say, MITT is the right choice for VP. A McCain-Romney ticket is unbeatable. Romney for the economy and jobs, McCain for the military and foreign affairs. Both men are respectable, honorable has integrity and good moral character. What more could we americans ask?.
RPH | 4:35 p.m. April 18, 2008
Wow, really "hundreds" of scientists disagree with global warming? I guess that would be a big deal if tens of thousands didn't agree with it. Well played man. Scare tactics? You ought to know, your president used them to get elected in 2004 and to get us into Iraq. Once more, well played.
Indiana | 7:55 p.m. April 18, 2008
RPH: You sound so bitter! What a shame. Global warming is a farce. The ones who really know about it, cannot even get a listening ear or a chance from the media. Yes, hundreds and thousands discredit Global warming. Many meteorologists etc. cry foul... It is a stupid lie that is heavily bought into by foolish people. History belies it and supports typical cyclical changes.

GWB did not lie by the way. He had the same intelligence Clinton and everyone else had. Amazing how everyone is so foolishly accepting of every lie that comes along.

Go Mitt... you should be president however hopefully we will get to settle for you being VP thus setting you up for a good run in 2012.....

Re comments of Alice from Texas at 4:18 p.m. Alice,
my fellow Texan, I couldn't have said it better. Mitt Romney is an A #1 class act and America will forever be the loser if the powers that be in the Republican Party do not recognize that fact and find some way to utilize his enormous talents and expertise, also he looks like a president and is downright in your face good-looking. McLain will get my vote only if he has the good sense to choose Mitt as his vice-president running mate. Obama is downright scary and Hilary as commander-in-chief is unthinkable. Whether or not I sit this one out depends upon McCain's good sense or lack thereof.

During his campaign, polls were taken of the voters of Romney vs the other candidates. Statistics showed clearly that the Romney voters were averaged-out as college graduates, as opposed to high school graduates for the rest of the voters.
Recently, last week, the DNC chairman, Howard Dean stated that he most most fearful of Romney winning the GOP ticket. Maybe some day the rest of the country can get an idea about the real Mitt, instead of the fear-hyping of the Left and the Right wing bigots.
Anonymous | 12:33 p.m. April 19, 2008
Romney fans here are incapable of anything but lashing out against those who don't want Romney near the presidency. It doesn't make you a "bigot" if you don't support the man. The assertion that someone is "jealous" of Mitt because they are not a fan is silly and juvenile.
Steve | 1:25 p.m. April 20, 2008
I appreciate Governor Romney's support for Senator McCain. It would be great if he could help the GOP in areas where he's still popular. Utah is a classic example, of course, but there's other states like Massachusetts where McCain runs surprisingly strong. Perhaps he could help there.
Lois Cole | 2:59 p.m. April 20, 2008
If the Gods be for this nation, there will be a Mitt Romney in the White House. John McCain is extremely fortunate to be able to pick a man with the high qualifications such as Mitt. If Mitt is the "chosen one" then my faith in our wonderful country has a chance. God Bless and Help America!!!!
Brendy | 8:26 a.m. April 22, 2008
Romney was my very first choice - PLEASE McCain, have enough sense to pick Mitt as VP. He could do wonders with our economy.
Zeadman | 7:24 a.m. May 7, 2008
