Can't you get Sen. Buttars to write another letter to the judge threatening him if he doesn't rule in favor of his friend?

It's really quite sad that this "developer" has been pushing this fiasco for so long that you (The DNews) are able to use just his last name in the headline!

I wonder if Gibby thinks he is honest in his dealings with his fellow man? If so, he is wrong.

Would you like to expound on that a little bit Hater??? I see a guy just trying to do what is already allowed for under mapleton city ordinances and then getting stopped in his tracks by a bunch of nosy neighbors who have no business being involved. He should sue mapletone city for a few million in lost revenue now that the real estate market is dead and let all of those neighbors pay for that in higher taxes and see how they like that.
I'm sure he will | 10:50 p.m. April 21, 2008
If there's even a slight chance of any further lawsuits being successful, I'm sure Gibby will go for it.

Hey "Just a Guy"
Are you Gibby himself or just a relative? Congratulations to all you developers who have made millions defacing the local mountains so that a few people can have a grand view while the rest of us look at the gravel pits you have created on the once beautiful hills. Oh, good luck with the law suits when the next earthquake or mudslide takes out have of those places literally built on sand! You should have paid more attention to the parable about the man who built on sand rather than rock when you were in Sunday School.

Just Gibby's Guy | 11:35 a.m. April 24, 2008
I am certain "Just a Guy" is just another of those individuals who Gibby has paid off to sing his song. What underlies the song, however, is their intent to rape Maple Mountain for as much money as they can suck out of the development and then leave the retaining walls and the rest of the mess for Mapleton residents to fix and pay for in order to maintain and settle the lawsuits of those who try to build houses on the mountain.

Apparently you people have never seen Gibby's property. Its not a very steep grade and he should be developing 200+ lots up there....not the 60 that he is asking for. I've developed much steeper property than his without any issues at all. I'm just like all the other builders/developers around the country that are sick and tired of neighbors thinking that they can somehow have some say in what we can do with our private property. If you don't like what I am proposing with my land...then BUY IT FROM ME!!!!
Just an Informed Guy | 8:07 a.m. April 28, 2008
Apparently Just a Guy has not seen the numerous ridiculous proposed retaining walls, up to 70 feet high. Or the several switchbacks. How about how he has a 10 acre lot in the middle on the less steep land and pushes all the half acre to one acre lots so they fall down the steep mountain or rise up the steep mountain above him? His plan is a disaster. He should be developing 200+ lots up there? Why, because it's been done in other cities? That property was zoned low density way before Gibby bought it. Why does he not have to live within the city ordinances like everyone else has? What makes him so special?....money and legislative influence. Bullying and intimidation. Just a Guy - you should be proud to back such a great citizen.
