Roger Baldwin denounced communism in his book, "A New Slavery", which condemned "the inhuman communist police state tyranny" . In the 1940s, Baldwin led the campaign to purge the ACLU of Communist Party members.

I trust that young people are able to thoughtfully discern which of the messages and actions of the ACLU of Utah they agree with, and those they don't. The point is to empower young people - whatever their politics - to reflect intelligently on their world, and seek creative ways to serve those around them.

Thanks again to the ACLU for sticking up for our freedom of speech. I saw the opposite when I traveled in a communist country, where people were even afraid to chat while riding on the streetcar. The freedom to speak our opinions without fear is fundamental to our democracy.

I went to the talk last night. Not only was Ms. Remington articulate and funny, she presented wonderful opportunities and advice for young people who want to work in the documentary film industry. Thanks to Spyhop and the ACLU for creating this unique opportunity for our community.

He once said, “I am for socialism, disarmament, and, ultimately, for abolishing the state itself... I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and the sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal.”
Keeping that in mind and given the ACLU's history of undermining nearly every value that most Americans hold dear, what kind of youthful activists are the ACLU trying to create and indoctrinate with this little event?
