An excellent response to a request that is at best asinine and insensitive; at worst a further attempt to link the FLDS church to the LDS church in the minds of people who are following this story.

Let us not forget these followers of the FLDS; have been misguided for several years, by men with their own agenda. Hopefully we can show compassion for the misguided (abused)souls, that have no concept of any other way of life. They have already been castout by society, so let us take the opportunity to teach them, and help them reach a greater understanding of our Heavenly Fathers plan.

Now may be people will understand that the FLDS are not part of us. They broke away from the main Church built by God through Joseph Smith. The FLDS broke away when the practice of two our more wives was abolished. There fore no longer a part of the LDS Church.

This is not the response a true christian church would give. Jesus would have responded to the judge's request with something like, "Of course I will do what is requested of me to help the community and the FLDS children, even though our beliefs may differ".
The LDS Church really blew a great opportunity to help out.

I suppose Jesus would have helped the money changers in the temple if they asked him to stand in for them... I guess he blew a great opportunity to help by throwing them all out instead.
