What a great day | 7:55 a.m. April 25, 2008
I remember well April 1999 when I graduated from the Y. I have since attended other institutions and earned more degrees at some excellent institutions of higher learning, but none of them has been as cherished and none of the other institutions had the personal impact on my life as BYU. For that, I am in debted to the church and BYU for the rest of my life. Congrats to all grads!

Where's the journalistic honesty? Isn't there a rule newspapers can alter pictures using Photoshop? This only applies to journalist with a liberal agenda. :-)

Made some comments on a similar story in yesterday's
Deseret News web site:
Congratulations on Finishing what you started!!
Sounds like it was a Great program. I'm sure that
Elder Bednar gave a Great Commencement address and
I'm sure all the others contributed to a Great Experience!
Noticed a number of California people
(both Southern and Northern CA) mentioned in
this up-dated and expanded story.
Again Congrats!!!
God Bless....

I graduated from the Y in 1972, since then our five children and their spouses have also graduated there. Last weekend we attended our number 11 family graduation for our son-in-law. For a little boy from China, who would ever dare to dream of earning a college degree let alone a degree from the Y. To remember my self and to watch our children walk the graduation march is truly an American dream. We are thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ that helped us move forward to a better place in life. I appreciated the encouragements given at the commencement exercise. Go Cougar Grads.
