Does anyone know if they hit from the red tee's? The men have to hit their second shots with their pants down to their ankles if they don't hit it past the red tee's, what to the women do with this golf rule?

Does anyone know if the 4A and 5A will have separate state tournaments? It sounds like there are a lot more girls playing than was thought in the beginning. I hope they have a state champ in the 4A and 5A. These girls deserve it. The boys get separate state titles. I hope the girls get the same opportunity. Doesn't Title IX become an issue?

As of right now, it is scheduled for both 4A and 5A to play together on May 13th. However, it is only one day, where the boys is two days..

Congrats to the Tooele High golf team for capturing the first ever Region VII girls' golf title. Sadie Palmer won the low medalist honor after winning every meeting in the region action. Unfortunately, some officials in the Region VII didn't think about ordering a team trophy and individual medals for the team champions and the other individual medalists. These girls, in their first effort as a girls' team, played great golf. But due to some adults mistake, the girls weren't able to be honored in front of their fellow Region VII opponents for their accomplishments. I'm sure if another sport didn't have medals and a trophy to present to the region champions, there would be some upset fans and parents. I hope someone plans to right this wrong. Anyway, congrats to the newly crowned Region VII girls' golf champions and to the other young ladies from the other region schools who played well and who qualified for the state tournament.

Good job to Tooele's golf team, but isn't that response a little too much? They did well, but they know who they are. Girls golf is a new sport, and it's still getting organized, so don't be critical about how the organization works.

It doesn't really matter if it's a new sport or not. It's absolutely true that parents would be extremely upset if this happened in any other sport. Why should girls golf be any different?
