AK47 looked awful. How many times did Deron have to tell him where to go on offense. He is also the only one on the team who is selfish. He's an awful shooter but he continues to hoist of 3's at an alarming rate! Let's give C.J. Miles a shot.

The one thing that drives me crazy is to watch the Jazz fake and drive and then turn the ball over on a pass. Just take the open shot for heaven sakes!! I'd rather miss the open shot and let your rebounders put in the second chance than have no shot and give the ball away. What I see in the past few games is a confidence issue in making the open shot. Break out of it!!! D-Will, take the ball straight at 'em and dish, dish, dish!!! If not, shoot the ball!! And for heaven sakes, take the 3 ball whenever your get it since it spreads the floor even if you miss! When the Jazz win and win big, it is always after a slurry of 3's! Get the groove back and get it back Friday night!!

Look at the bright side: at least no one, including me, saw this game, thanks to it not being televised nationally. (NBA TV does not count.)
So which team is better? It's the team that can deal with this blowout the best. It's actually a problem for both teams--a confidence buster for the Jazz, and an arrogance booster for the Rockets (if they could be more arrogant than they already were, which is doubtful).
The Jazz have shown far more maturity than the Rockets in the series thus far--for example, you don't see Coach Sloan and the boys whining and blaming the refs for this loss as the Rockets have done three times--and I suspect that psychologically, the Jazz will deal with this blowout better than the Rockets will.
Go Jazz

From the high light and recap, I saw the Rockets played a junior Jazz team...
Well, I know they will loss a lot of $ if the series become a short one. There are Millions of Rockets fans here in China watching, even with Yao out.
Show us your true self on Friday Jazz!!!

What a heartless performance. Not a single player came to play. Milsap got schooled by a rookie, Korver had clown feet and couldn't shoot. Where is the all-star Boozer? MIA. What a disappointment!

This series should have been a sweep, we all agree. But, the typical Jazz showed up for the series and now we are going to game 6. I don't believe the Jazz have the heart to win this series although odds are they should win game 6. If they don't, they are through.
I root for the Jazz but my favorite team is whoever plays the Lakers. The Jazz don't have the heart to step up to beat the Lakers. The Jazz are awefully good at beating the Jazz. Booooo-zer plays like a little girl. AK, you are no better, where did your intesity go? D-Will has the heart but a lousy supporting cast. I want competition for the Lakers! I want the better team to win this series to compete with the Lakers. I just don't think it will be the Jazz. Kevin O'Conner, trade Boooooooo-zer for Scola. His girly look made Boooooooooooo-zer play like a little girl, is it love? Lets get some heart on the team. Maybe penalize Booooooooooooooooo-zer everytime he acts like a little sissy on the floor. Don't pay him for the game. Maybe he might show up to play for a change.

The Rockets are being underestimated. You won't know the extent of their basketball abilities. I mean, no one ever expected them to win 22 straight games(10 without Yao). It's true that the Jazz are very physical and are very difficult to beat, but the Rockets will never be daunted. The Rockets comprise of players who can explode in any given game. Their bench is strong and has a lot of talent. This team plays with a flaming passion to win each game that they play. Now that they are only two games away from winning this series, coupled with the verge of being eliminated, there is no doubt that the Rockets are highly motivated to win Game 6 in Utah. The thought that they have won two of the Jazz' only five home losses this season, including one in this series(Game 3) adds to their confidence. They also have the momentum because of their blowout win in Game 5. The Rockets are, perhaps, even prepared to win the series. The Lakers should prepare to meet the Rockets in the second round. I think it will be Rockets in 7.

At first I was furious when I found out the game was on stinking NBATV last night. Now I'm glad that most of the nation didn't see it. The Jazz haven't played with much heart this entire series (with the general exclusion of D-Will) and until they develop a killer instinct, they will always be 2nd best, or 3rd best, or 4th best....
Incidentally, I hope D-E-R-O-N will stamp his name all over the foreheads of the Rockets on Friday--make them never forget his name.

Dear Utah Jazz,
Thank you very much for wasting my time last night. If I could fine you for having the most pathletic performance of the playoffs, I would. Thanks for obviously not giving a rats butt about bringing a championship team. I'd trade every dang one of you after your mental midget night of basketball last night. None of you are worth a dime you are getting after your performance last night.

Williams and Boozer have to quit trying to be the whole team. More team work is necessary--rather than trying for individual stardom. And AK47 has been wide open for easy, uncontested shots but seldom gets to touch the ball.Williams, for some strange reason, ignores him. What's up with that? Involve AK47 more and increase the scoring punch. He's one of the most talented and agressive players on the team, and certainly the best defensive player. He needs to be involved more, not less!
secondtier | 6:46 a.m. April 30, 2008
This team just is not ready to step up to the level of the elite teams in the West. When the big game is at hand and they could take control they fall apart. Take for example the last home game with the Lakers, Game 3 of this series and now tonight. This type of game gives huge confidence to Houston and now the Jazz will be trying not to lose instead trying to win. The Jazz are just a second tier team and not ready for primetime.
j. stockton | 6:52 a.m. April 30, 2008
AK has only had one good playoff game in the last two years and that was in game one of this series. The Jazz seriously need to get something for him in the offseason.

"we have to play harder." no. we have to play on fire. as in: on fire to win. on fire to prove it. on fire as a team. on fire to shut up the naysayers. on fire to shut up tmac & kobe & the media. on fire to hold the trophy. now is the time. use it or lose it.
re: k. malone. like boozer isn't selfish? how about selfishly ignoring defense? Or all the bla bla bla "all star?" time to deliver the payload.

The Rockets can win a third game in Utah on Friday. Nice accomplishment (the only team to do it this year). Thank you Jazz. Rockets are full of confidence again. Full heart effort. Losing the first two games at home made it difficult. Where was Alston? Injured?
Are the Jazz mature enough to close-out a series at home that they are now clearly expected to win.
"The world is welcome here" is what Utah said during the winter of 2002. We'll be there and plan to invite you back to Houston, one more time.
Can you feel it? Gotta luv it baby!

This was the stellar Jazz we have seen on the road all season long. Lackadaisical defense, missed assignments, and poor shooting to boot. Alan Handy and 4 Nu-Skin Jazz Dancers would of run us out of the building last night. I hope we can bring something Friday night or we will be done.
Geeez... | 7:57 a.m. April 30, 2008
Collectively, the team did lousy. Nobody showed up to play. Might as well had a college basketball team from Utah show up to play. At least they would have played with more heart, and maybe even come out with more points, even if they don't win. The Jazz are a much, much, MUCH better team than this as evidenced by the fact that the "were" up in the series 3 - 1, and have the best home court record. It's all a mental game at this point, and I guess we will see how well the Jazz bounce back in game 6, which thank the basketball gods is back in Utah. I don't know that the Jazz can handle a game 7 in Houston.
Utah Fan | 7:59 a.m. April 30, 2008
Its over....we are not going to win game 6 and we are not going to win the series. Houston proved to us last night that they are clearly the better team in this matchup. Maybe crybaby47 should stop hoisting up horrible 3point attempts and focus more on slashing to the basket. Everyone knows hes only good from 2 feet out. Ever since Rafer Alston came back into this series the Rockets have had the upper hand. Atleast we can thank Yoa Ming for Breaking his foot because if he was playing we probably wouldnt have won a game.
Rockets in 7 | 7:59 a.m. April 30, 2008
I think Kirlinko should quit the NBA because hes got no skill and pursue an acting career. If you think about it he can be his own stunt man, he can just flop all over the place, hes really good at it. This has been an entertaining series. I think you utah fans underestimate the Rockets. You have no idea what we are capable of and i love every minute of it. See you in utah and then back here in houston for game 7. Then you can watch us on your tv's in the conference semis.
Boooooozer | 8:08 a.m. April 30, 2008
No NBA team will ever win a championship with Carlos Booooozer as the primary post player.
PS. If Boozer yells "grab it" one more time while waiting for someone else to get a loose ball or a rebound I am personally going to start a "trade Carlos Boozer" web page.

I've said it after their first win in Salt Lake and I'll say it again. This series belongs to Houston. The Jazz are too weak to beat Houston 4 times. This series will go the full 7 games with Houston advancing.

After all, sloan isn't supposed to:
1. Motivate players
2. Watch film
3. Match rotations
4. Call plays

Really? Actually if we had Yao Ming and Rafer Alston for the whole series, we would be a whole LOT MORE arrogant, don't you think? This series would have been a sweep if that was the case. THe jazz are pathetic. No point in winning this series and losing the next series to a team with all their starters available. I rather see an injured team with heart advance. GO ROX!!!

Sneaky thinks its all over for the Jazz. Houston is the better team with Rafer Alston back in the line up. Sloan needs to get the slugs out and put some people in that can hit a shot (like Miles or Almond).
Houston now has the momentum and will win in SLC. Too bad Jazz, you are not ready for prime time.

Last night was a disgrace. That game last night tells me this team is not a championship team for at least a few more years. I would not be suprised if they loose friday night, and the series. The rockets have confidence, and they know they can win in utah which is scary.
Jazz have Spring Fever | 9:15 a.m. April 30, 2008
The Jazz have spring fever just like they did last year and are looking forward to the camping, fishing and golfing season early.
They will choke at home. No heart in wanting to win.
Utah crowd or not.
Perhaps they don't want to be embarassed later by L.A., since they are home resting for a heartless team?
Perhaps they don't want to meet face to face with Derek Fisher? Doesn't he already know the Jazz playbook and hand signals to 'coach' the Lakers to help them win?
Why didn't Sloan leave the floor in disgust at his team's effots to get them motivated and fired up?
I hope this email gets under their saddle, maybe it'll get them close to winning.

The highest percentage shot in basketball is the layup, The jazz should watch film and see how many the gave up. the jazz will be disapointed if the dont push the ball and get easy shots.they nedd to turn up the tempo and quit arm wrestling on both ends.and just play ball.2 doudle pumps and a 20 foot turaround junper dosnt work.
Pathetic | 9:20 a.m. April 30, 2008
I agree with Lori B. I, too, was upset about the NBA-TV deal but it turns out the powers that be did us all a big favor. I'm glad I didn't see the game. I just don't get it. One game the Jazz can look like world beaters and the next they play like they have cement in their shoes. Much of the game is mental and one can readily tell when their minds are not into the game when they start clanking foul shots. What puzzles me, though, is why the mental numbness affects the whole team. Sheesh!
Take it easy...... | 9:22 a.m. April 30, 2008
the jazz are fine. they will come out fired up and angry about this loss. we are playing in our building, we will have our great fans behind us, and if we take care of business like we should and are capable of, we will be playing at LA this weekend.
relax jazz fans. like barkley said last night...at the beginning of the season, you tell yourself that you will have a home game to close out a playoff series, you will take that 10 out of 10 times.
JAZZ in 6.

It was very disappointing to see Deron didn't do anything about the disrespect that Houston showed him, I really thought he'd put the hammer down and had more inside of him than he showed.
We'll see if the Jazz can match the guts and heart that Houston showed, because the Rockets don't have nearly the talent and won on guts and willpower.

This series is brewing and set to explode!
Game 6 is going to be a brawl.
Pressure will be on the Jazz with thoughts of 30,000 fans booing when things aren't going well.
Jazz bench is deep, I'm surprised not seeing other players like CJ Miles on the floor.
For some strange reason, seems the Rox have figured out the Jazz offense . Last night's performance of Jazz shows it all. Each shot was well contested.
Expect Sloan dig up some new plays ..

How does it feel to know the Jazz just have your number?

What is wrong with the Jazz fans on this comment board? No faith. The Jazz will win game 6. Look at the Jazz teams from the past. We always have a bad game in the playoffs and get schooled by a team that we go on and beat. I am glad they got this bad game out of the way so they don't have one against the Lakers. Jazz win game 6. Believe!

As a Jazz fan I'm trying to remain positive but last night game was just sad, sad, sad. I could watch the game and I turned it off in the 3rd quarter because I couldn't stand to see them getting trounced any longer .If they are going to end this Friday night everybody better come to play including the bench and if that means Sloan puts in Almond and CJ so be it. We also need some outside shots from Korver and Okur if we hope to end this series. If we think its bad now wait til they have to play the Lakers. Gooo Jazz !!!!

I think that everybody who is blaming the loss on the Jazz's lack of desire is full of baloney. You really think the Jazz p
The coaches and players cannot address a major reason Houston was able to take it to Utah, but we fans certainly can -- and that's the officiating. The officials let the Rockets get away with lots and lots of fouls while calling things close on the Jazz. That ensured that the Rockets got many loose balls by grabbing and pushing, yet the Jazz had their possessions reduced by the refs. The Jazz still could have won if they had stuck to their game plan, but when the refs call things too one-sidedly, players tend to try more jumpers and to lay back on defense, afraid of getting into foul trouble. Meanwhile on the defensive and offensive boards, the opponent will get more possessions if they can push and foul more than the Jazz. This is precisely why Adelman complained about the refs after Game 4. In SLC, Utah should get more calls. That why it's important that Jazz fans put pressure on the refs. Houston should not be allowed to dictate things in Utah.

Dangerous | 9:44 a.m. April 30, 2008
Friday is a dangerous game. The Jazz GAVE new life to Houston with the game 3 loss at home and they've gained some confidence. At the same time, the Jazz have lost the offensive firepower that made them one of the most efficient offensive teams in the regular season this year. They come down the floor in slow motion and, by the time they get to the third option, the shot clock is running out. Players are standing instead of cutting and the spacing is terrible. The Jazz have GOT to get off to a good first quarte on Friday and have GOT to push the ball a little bit. Houston has got one of the best defenses, especially when the Jazz don't get the ball past half court until there's 17 left on the shot clock. Don't let them get set defensively...push it a little more and try to get some easier transition baskets.
We won the first 2 in Houston....don't lose the advantage by losing game 6. GO JAZZ!!

3-1. Houston had their backs against the wall and were playing at home. Although I expected Utah to put in a much better effort, I wasn't shocked by what happened. Utah usually plays well after a blowout and being at home will help. Utah should win on Friday. I can't see them losing twice to Houston at home in the playoffs.

Some things to remember:
1. Did you really believe we would win 3 games of a series on the opponents home court? Get real. No surprise they lost last night.
2. This is a 4 vs 5 matchup which basically means the teams are evenly matched.
3. We are playing the 2nd best defense in the league and when we won first 2 close games, some mistakenly thought this would be easy.
4. Houston did not win 22 games by accident.
5. We are still up 3-2. We have beaten them twice on their home court in the series and they have only won here once. This next game will be our advantage of winning the first two--we still have homecourt.
6. It is not all bad they got smashed in the mouth last night. Jazz should be fired up for game 6.
7. Boozers numbers are very deceptive. 8-18 but several were gimme put backs. He finally jumped into the defender/shotblocker to get a couple of shots off/score. It has taken 5 games for him to figure that out. He is the reason we didn't sweep. No adjustments by Boozer--very weak.
Win Friday or we're done.

As a Jazz Fan I'am trying to remain positive but game 5 was sad, sad, sad. If they are going to win game 6 they need everybody to bring their A game including the bench and if that means Almond and CJ get to play great. Korver and Okur also need to make their outside shots and Boozer needs to stop fumbling the ball. I hope being on homecourt helps Friday because if they hope to get out of this series and win against the Lakers they need to stop finger pointing and play like professionals. Gooo Jazz!!!

I listened on the radio and found time to do 360 names on the indexing program because the game was so awful. At least it took my mind off such horrible play. Hot Rod was also very boring, he should have been screaming at how horrible the Jazz played!

Also, its comforting to know that googly-eyed T MAC can make shots when his team is already up 20...but when the game is close, look for him to come through as much as he did the first couple games this series...
Its also good to see that Boozer may have finally found his game in the 2nd half tonight...hopefully that will carry over to friday, as well as Deron getting a little fire under him after being outplayed tonight...
