Sister Beck, Thanks for your wonderful messages.

I for one wept when you gave the Conference message, "Mothers who know". I wish someone would have spoke so to the point and boldly when I was a young woman. Maybe if they would have I would not be divorced and a single mother.
Question | 3:03 p.m. May 3, 2008
Sister Beck's talks are in direct contrast with Sheri Dew's. Sister Beck says "women who know" get married and have babies and teach their children at home (are homemakers). Sheri Dew did NONE of those things.

So who do we listen to? Sister Beck's words, or Sheri Dew's example?

You do both - Sister Dew, if you read her words in various rescources, would be the first to say that the "right way" is to get married and have kids. That hasn't happened for her, but that doesn't mean she doesn't want it or seek it. As is always taught in the church, you teach the ideal, and do your best. If things don't work out you still do your best. Sister Beck has also said "Don't abandon the plan because you are alone," meaning, do your best but don't get down on yourself if it doesn't work out - Sheri Dew being the best example of that. I am single and a member of the LDS church so I know where of I speak. We have every reason for hope and optimism no matter where we are in our life.

Sorry, but... | 8:58 p.m. May 3, 2008
"Living life to its fullest," is not just about playing now and paying later. It is about enriching your life in every way you can (or feel comfortable with) while being a responsible adult. You CAN do both, it does not have to be an either/or.
