Kobe- any chump can jump over a sports car. Let's see you try and jump over Karl Malones potato truck. Goll Dang, I'd pay money to see that.

He's exactly what the Jazz don't have. . . but for Williams -- a clutch performer.
JazzFan4ever | 9:57 a.m. May 5, 2008
It's easy to be clutch knowing that even if you miss you will get free throws. I disagree! Clutch is the drive to overcome all odds and obstacles =JAZZ Defense and more defense.Win just win.Hustle and effort above all else.Above stats. Above ego. Above ticky tac fouls.Play the game, Love the game win the game. Your the Jazz play a little Jazz. Sloan give them a different look make them hear Jazz.

I think the Jazz would do themselves a huge favor if they went away from the Hacking ,Jersey Holding, Arm Slapping and pretty much "We Can Bully You" Defense approach to this series. I dont see it working very well against The Lakers.

JazzFan4ever....I can picture you sitting at your computer with Jazz posters and memorabilia all over your walls. Do you play Basketball? Or have you been a bench wamer all your life. The Jazz are a great team, the Lakers are just better this year and thus far in the series. The Jazz will win a game or two, but eventually the Lakers will roll into the Western Conference Finals. If you watched the game, you saw as I did, all of the jersey grabbing by the Jazz and you saw BOOZER pushing someone in the back every play. The Jazz were over matched in Game 1. Coach Jackson is 39-0 when he wins the first game of a series. History is on the Lakers side, but so is KOBE. I could not help thinking that any of the Jazz players would leave Utah and play for the Lakers if they had a chance. Rest your fingers Jazzfan4ever because the Lakers are coming at the Jazz again this Wens. LAKERS IN 4, sweep the Jazz just like the popcorn Jazz fans throw on the floor. Pathetic!
Sokol | 11:05 a.m. May 5, 2008
One bashed noggin like Raja Bell on KOBE or and unintentional clothesling by the Stockbroker Muscleman, aka Matt Harpring, or an inadvertent decking by The World's Strongest Paperboy, aka Paul Millsap and the series is over

No class, but expected.
Hope the Jazz can overcome | 12:01 p.m. May 5, 2008
I love the Jazz, but Sokol and JazzFan4ever you are a little to close to be rationale. One game does not a series make and I am hopeful that the Jazz can overcome, but it will take better perimeter shooting, without giving up on the inside game. The Jazz will only get past the Lakers if they can hit outside shots when the lane is too clogged up. They lack the individual talent on their team that a Kobe, LeBron, or an MJ provides, but they have lived and died with how they play with very, very good leaders and a strong supporting cast playing in the team concept. However, Mr. BBallLaker, you will not get your coveted sweep. This Jazz squad is too good for that, in fact I think the odds are 4 to 1, 7 game series vs. sweep.

Wonder how many airballs Rock put up in his day - guessing it was more than two.

The better team showed up and won. I do not understand how Jazz fans feel you have a championship caliber team. You have a really good team, but you do not have a great team. If Stockton & Malone couldn't do it, do you really think this no name team can?
lanmanlee | 1:23 p.m. May 5, 2008
I'm a Laker fan, but I like the Jazz. They play hard all the time. I think the Lakers have better overall talent, but the Jazz work harder with less talent. The Jazz can win this series if they execute PERECTLY and the bench of the Lakers doesn't produce.
Really good Jazz squad, but it'll go SIX with Lakers moving on.

Open your eyes BBallLaker and rewatch the game. Your Lakers got their pushers and shirt pullers too.The Jazz just didn't get to go to the line with every breeze of the wind that hit them like Kobe.It will be a tougher series than you think and maybe you have never played ball. What do you play flag basketball? Boozer's not pushing people to the floor he's holding his ground. Watch the game again and I'm SURE that you will see a few Lakers do the same thing.Ummm... even the great MJ pushed off in his last game to get his shot off? Pushing and pulling to a degree are part of the game. Truly you have never played basketball in your life.I think all you do is watch it on tv and see only what you want to see. I'm not slamming any of the other Lakers just Kobe and his Golden Boy Can't touch this image that the refs let him get.
Encouraged | 1:47 p.m. May 5, 2008
I'm encouraged by the play of the Jazz in game 1. They had little time to prepare, played horribly with uncommon high turnovers and shot under 40%. Yet, they were still in the game in the 4th quarter. The Jazz only need to steal one game in LA and this series is winable.

To JazzFan4ever: The difference between you and me is I love the game. I enjoy watching great players make great plays. Deron is getting there, but Kobe has arrived and it his time. He has learned to dish and make his teammates better. You will sleep better at night if you just enjoy the game.

I like the Jazz but I'm a Laker fan ,I'm not a hater. Are Jazz fans so insecure they have to hate on anyone that threatens them. Chris Paul, TMAC, Kobe, Fisher, Shaq when he was a Laker just to name a few.
Lakersin4 | 2:49 p.m. May 5, 2008
Yep Jazzfanforever, like every game it is 8 on 5. Good thing the lakers were allowed to play with 8 v the Jazz 5. The losing team always blames the referees. OK, get a grip, your team got beat, and got beat good.

The jazz fans hate those players because they have never had one of thier own as good as that.
Which is why they will always be playoff chum and not champs.
You don't win champioships wihjt "B" cast. it just never happens.
You need "A" players and jazz fans are envious of them and foolishly believe they can some how beat them or maybe liek think those players are not that good in order to make themselves feel better about heir players.
either way the Jazz don't have what takes or needs to win championships so must take solace in fact they can win enough to make the playoffs every year like over half the league.
