This is preposterous. Wine & cheese liberals in gas-guzzling SUVs are moaning about the high cost of fuel, and the result is a proposal to temporarily suspend the federal gas tax. This money goes to road maintenance, crucial and under-funded already. This becomes a de facto incentive to avoid changing behavior. If we're serious about reducing emissions that exacerbate climate change, don't make it easier to maintain destructive behavior.

Can't wait to see those standstill lines all day long on "Gas Day"! Should bring back some memories of the days when gas was rationed.

Let us not forget the whiskey & steak conservatives that also back the gas-tax suspension. Cut the cost of gasoline below what us citizens have taken for granted, and the petroleum industry can increase their profits by washing out the supposed savings with price increases.

As Pogo said, "We have met the enemy, and it is us!"
Hillary is pandering with the worst we have ever seen or experienced. McCain did pander first, however.
Only one telling us the truth and not pandering is Obama. He's got my vote.

Russ: you nailed it. But no one is listening. They are busy counting all of the money they will save as they go 75 mph down the road in their big cars. Obama looks better every day.

Obama has voted for a suspension of a gas tax a number of times as a state senator in Illinois, yet now he is against it. I wonder why, is is so he can say Hillary is pandering, is it because he has no real ideas and all he can do is degrade the thoughts and plans of others.
