And who listens to George McGovern? Hillary should make her own happiness, her friends have deserted her. Go, Hillary. Obamo carries too much baggage and MUST be defeated, if not by Hillary, then by the boring Mr. Goody Two-shoes John McCain. What choice do I have? Donald Duck?

Is about time somebody tell her to quit, but for what I hear from her, she still wants to keep going and going and going. Somebody please give her a Towell so she can used, if she know what that mean in a boxing match.

To admirer, you are kidding yourself if you think Obama will prevail in November. These last few primaries have shown that Obama cannot carry the white, working-class voters. His party will pay dearly for disenfranchising the voters of Mich. and Fla!There will be more discoveries of the people Obama associates with. And,like McGovern,he won't gather enough electoral votes to matter.

I am backing John Edwards. Does anyone care?

I think many of us who opposed George McGovern back in the 60's now regret it. We should have paid attention to him then, we should pay attention to him now.
Who put Humphrey together again? | 12:10 p.m. May 7, 2008
What a momentum stopper.

This just might be the kiss of death for Obama. Didn't McGovern go down in flames to Nixon in one of the worst landslides ever?

If he can line up endorsements from Dukakis, Mondale, and Kerry he'll likely be assured of a historic and titanic voyage.

Just checking in and Utahns are as blind as ever about what this country needs.

Lee, your observation is right on. Obama is going to suffer defeat, probably of the monumental proportions that McGovern did in the 60's. I opposed George McGovern in the 60's. He was wrong for America then and, like Obama, would be wrong for America today, a la Carter (unfortunately for America he slipped through), Dukakis, Mondale, Gore and Kerry. And don't give me that old song and dance about George Bush's low approval numbers. When compared with the Democrat Congress, George Bush is immensely popular.

all of the candidates are Socialists. The Constitution has been abandoned and America's days are numbered.

George Bush is the worst thing that has ever happend to this country. High fuel costs are going to kill this country. That`s what you get when you elect an oil man President. Young people are getting killed everyday in the Iraq war. Yea we need a Republician back in the White House don`t we ?

Another heart-warming type of posting from our beloved neo-reds.

See what happens when one listens to Limbaugh 3 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Dang, what a clever rip. Since there are virtually no liberal talk show hosts to mimic you must have come up with that zinger all by yourself.

I'll bet you've got a Sean Hannity quip locked and loaded and ready to fire.

Congrats. Keep up the good work.

Originally I was 4 square for Obama. He may be mortally damaged though. If Hillary does make it, how will all her friends feel that endorsed Obama?
for the record | 4:19 p.m. May 7, 2008
When you senior types start talking about fallen Democrats you opposed, at least you should get your history right. McGovern was the nominee in '72 vs. Nixon and Agnew (last election for both of them). Watergate came from this election. Humphrey lost to Nixon in '68 after the Chicago Democratic convention split the party wide open. Carter was elected in '76, post Watergate, defeating the unelected Ford. And if you lived in other places you could hear the 10% of radio talk that is "liberal." For what it's worth, I think Obama has a good chance to win, depending on whether or not McCain can stay awake.

What corrections with regards to "getting history right" need to be made? As was stated (without comments as to why anyone won or lost), Nixon defeated Humphrey. Nixon defeated McGovern. Carter defeated Ford.

Living in Seattle, one of the most PC states in the nation, we do get more than our share of liberal talk radio. Even here, the show with the largest pull among key demographics is a conservative(almost Libertarian).

The liberals have spoken. The end times are near.

OBAMA speaks about Change! Obama may as well change his name to OSAMA.......as Osama Bin Laden has about as much of a chance of being elected President as Barry Obama!

November Prediction...

John McCain 74%

Barack Hussein Obama 26%

Demos have the winning campaign slogan:

McCain, 4 more years of Bush.

That will sum it up. Unfortunately, it is true. McCain wants to run on the president's coat tails. haha hahahha hahha seriously... John has ackn. no knowledge of economics. He is already having senior moments. He just had one yesterday, did not know where he was giving the speech.

Oh the demo will win. And the Harvard Law School grad will be our new president.

His vp choice: maybe Hillary in order to guarantee the victory. Or Edwars. Or the lady gov. of Kansas.

Having met George McGovern, I can honestly say he has class. He is a distinguished WWII veterans. He is a humanitarian. Religious man. A class act if ever we had one.

Yee gads, when he switches from Hillary to Obama you know that Hillary has lost the honorable, devoted wing of the party. It is over for her.
Lewt | 8:15 p.m. May 7, 2008
When Mr. 6:44 predicts McCain at a whopping 74% of the vote, does he mean that for his neighborhood or his household?
