Using this same logic, raising property taxes would make our mortgage payments go down. With these knuckleheads in charge, energy costs will continue to soar, if you can get it.
Brilliant... | 8:22 a.m. May 8, 2008
Another brilliant idea brought to by Senate Democrats. They do everything they can to cut refining capacity and then wonder why prices and profits rise. These idiots couldn't pass an entry level economics course and yet they 'run' the country.
Sounds like great idea | 8:24 a.m. May 8, 2008
At least they are trying to work the issue. We have the knowledge to use technology to decrease our consumption. We should try to increase solar, wind and hydroelectric power along with greatly increase MPG in all vehicles.

TO: SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA Wind & solar energy will NEVER fuel a growing economy. There is no alternative fuels out there. Except nuclear. And they are so afraid of it! We need more oil. We have it. We just need to drill for it. If that moronic Bill Clinton had not vetoed the Anwar site, we would be benefitting from it right now!We should be drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. China is! We have oil fields in the Dakotas! Also, Brazil has a huge oil reserve. They will be drilling soon.We cannot "conserve" our way to a growing economy. But, as long as Harry Reid, Pelosi, et al control the Congress, we will fall behind and not grow our economy!

Lee, you and your ilk always likes to blame the Democrats for all the ills of the country. This should not be a partisan issue. Can you imagine if the average car got 100 MPG? I'm sure the OPEC countries would be really worried about it. As I said before instead of spending most or our resources looking for more oil, we should be looking for renewable resources. We put a man in the moon over 40 years ago, but we can't make a car that would give more than 50 MPG with today's technology?

Nothing will come from this grandstanding. It is to give Hillary cover for having such a stupid idea. Obama did not fall for the pandering. Give him credit. McCain did!!!

We need a 40 year energy policy. We have a 4 hour one. We need a democrat president who is not afraid to tell the truth. Obama.
