You see, gay marriage really is NOT a moral issue; it is a financial one. Heterosexual marriages are more likely to create additional citizens who can pay taxes, buy goods and services, and work in the workforce. Gay marriages are much less likely to do so. Hence, heterosexual marriages make more business sense, and budgets just don't have the funds for paying benefits to gay partners.
