Perhaps some of the feelings in the Arab world in regard to Israel is generated by its own actions.

Does might make right? By holding on to lands seized in war from its neighbors does not make for good neighborly relations.

Some say Shalom means Peace others say it means a "piece" of Syria, or a "piece" of Jordan or a "piece" of Lebanon.

Many people do not "admire" their treatment of the Palestinans in the occupied territories. Some would compare their treatment to the treatment of the blacks in South Africa and in the American South fifty years ago.

The practice of mass punishment leaves much to be desired. Punishing a whole population for the acts of individuals engaged in resistance is something the Nazis did in France during world war II.

The double standard practiced by the United States in regard to Israel nuclear program and that of its neighbors leaves little room for admiration. We turn a blind eye to its accumulation of nuclear weapons while we rant against its neighbors acquiring them.

It is admirable that it is able to manipulate congress to give it the largest amount of foreign aid of any other country.

I just knew some ignorant view would come up immediatley. I especially like the one where the peace loving muslims should have as much right to have nuclear weapons as anybody else. This just flys in the face of reason. the world would be a lot more unstable if this were to happen, and it will happen in time, at which point we will see how bad things can get.
p.s. 'to the victors go the spoils'.

... the new plague of western civ. Thanks 9:22. If the first poster doesn't understand why it's okay for Israel to have nuclear weapons and not Iran then this country is really far gone (assuming there are millions of people with that viewpoint)
I support Israel and it appears that Christians in America are the last group of people in the world that do support Israel. Even the secular Jews in America don't support Israel. I'll never understand it. Look at all the things Israel has given the world and then compare that to the Arab nations. We get oil from them ( and we have to supply the technology and know how to extract it)

Odd -- I didn't see any "ignorant" views expressed prior to the contribution from "what the." The comment from "A different view point" was well-informed and persuasively presented, as well as being cogent and timely (and with none of the mis-spellings that litter the presumably less "ignorant" offering by "what the"). As someone with friends on both sides of the Israeli/Arab conflict, and who has spent time in the region, I think the best thing we could do to promote peace and prosperity in that part of the world would be to stop funding EVERYBODY, pull out our military, and conduct trade and diplomacy on genuinely even-handed terms. In other words -- to follow George Washington's foreign policy prescriptions.

Its funny the self righteous people on this blog love to mock the spelling errors. Although I did appreciate the thoughtful input by Mr. Grigg.

there's nothing ignorant at all about stating that it should be ok for a country to develop nuclear weapons when that country has repeatedly pledged to use their nuclear weapons to destroy Israel as soon as they have the capability

Hooray for Israel! God has blessed this great nation-state and will always continue to do so. We should ALL protect Her, whether Jew or Gentile!
