Pewk. But he has the right to try to hoodwink the gullible. Same as the whole FLDS gang. Rape the kids in the name of religion.

This is the statute the FLDS is relying on:
"Arizona § 13-3608. Incest; classification Persons who are eighteen or more years of age and are within the degrees of consanguinity within which marriages are declared by law to be incestuous and void, who knowingly intermarry with each other, or who knowingly commit fornication or adultery with each other are guilty of a class 4 felony."
The statute can be interpreted to mean that a participant needs to be at least 18 years of age to be held responsible. So, the adults involved can be prosecuted, but the underaged participants cannot. That does not help the FLDS' cases since the men are adults.
Considering the amount of fees Rod Parker and company are likely bleeding the FLDS for, these attorneys are making some really dumb legal arguments. A freshlaw (first-year law student) could do better.

Just put him in general lock-up. Either he will convert the entire jail block making them law abiding citizens or they will refrom Jeff's permanantly. Either way, society benefits.

Criminal law is so disgusting.
With hundreds of lost boys and hundreds of statutory rape situations, it is clear that many, many lives have been ruined by this man. Yet he gets prosecuted for only two crimes. His attorneys aggressively attempt to clear his name at every opportunity. To date he ends up with two measly five year sentences.
If half of the news reports are correct, this guy should spend the rest of his life in prison. At some point, one would think that a tally of the damage would warrant several life sentences. Moreover, there must be people who believe that justice would be better served if several life sentences could be rolled over to a death penalty.

Girls are not a smart as they were and thats the reason girls can't get married as young as they use too.

Also, the statute does NOT say that incest means the participants have to be 'full' relatives, only that they have to be relatives. The core issue of incest is sharing too much of the same gene pool. Partial consanguinity does not get people off the hook. One of the things that will come out with the DNA tests is the generations long nature of the FLDS in-bred gene pool. People are not only sisters and brothers, or cousins. They are related in multiple ways.
