Democrats IN CONGRESS,with the help of a few Republicans, can be blamed for the ENERGY CRISIS. For over 50 years they have repeatedly shut down any effort for the United States to be ENERGY INDEPENDENT. We have enough oil in this country to last several hundred years but these short sighted and foolish politicians play their environmental games at our expense. We have been forced to deal with our enemies in the most unsettled area of the world.
China and Cuba are planning to drill off the Florida coast. China has 1 1/2 million cars now. They are projected to have 125 million cars in the next 30 years. Where will they get their fuel?? Where will we get ours?? No wind generators off Massachusetts thanks Teddy Kennedy, and so it goes. Ethanol, a government subsidized program has sent the cost of corn through the roof. Oil is a commodity and like any commodity when the supply is short prices go up. Our Congress,is like Nero who fiddled as Rome burned.Let us quit the blame game and DRILL, DRILL, DRILL!

Gas was 2;20 a gallon when the Dems took control of congress, promising to do something about the price of gas. Well they have. Now they say it is the fault of the Bush energy plan, really ? so we are drilling in alaska and the gulf? The dems pander to the un -educated and sadly it works.

Don't forget democrats control congress. Congress does not need the president to formulate laws. Of course the president can veto laws, but they have created nothing to veto. To me it appears the democrats are simply trying to find blame. They are as much to blame as the president, and perhaps more so since they propose nothing.

Stabenow is barking up the wrong tree. Bush, Cheney and the GOP has nothing to do with the price of oil. This is a world traded commodity and it goes to the highest bidder. Unfortunately, the highest bidders are not the end users but wheelers and dealers in the futures market.
