I'm glad to see that the USPS is maintaining its profitability by raising rates on a consistent basis, but not on my dime. Since the last increase, I protested and decreased my use of the postal service by over 80% by using online banking and sending more e-mails or text messages. Eventually the postal service will only be mailing packages, junk mail, and IRS notices if people start realizing how much they are getting ripped off. 42 cents for a one oz. letter is utterly ridiculous and it is no secret that people who buy stamps are subsidizing all that junk mail that gets a deeply discounted bulk mailing rate.
