Was this reviewer at the same performance my friend and I went to? Donna Anna had the most exquisite voice and musicality--she was anything but annoying! And Zerlina and Masetto were the heart of the show. They were tender and their singing matched their emotional appeal.
I hope that anyone thinking twice about seeing Giovanni after reading this review, will know that their evening at the opera will be very enjoyable, and full of a great deal of wonderful singing.

I do agree with the reviewer that The singer interpreting Giovanni fell short of the task. It is an incredibly hard thing to get up on stage and sing, but he didnt come across genuine enough to convince the audience of his character. I believe he did a fine job with "Deh vienni ala finestra" though....
For Utah Opera, I believe it was an expected performance and you can't demand any better.
