with kobes back hurting he can still take on any jazz backup because they are weak
Prediction | 2:45 p.m. May 12, 2008
The Jazz will win in 6.
The Lakers will probably shoot 45 free-throws in Game 5, but the Jazz will shoot 60% from the floor.
Deron Williams is proving to be more of a leader than Kobe.
Anyway, the real leader of the Lakers is Fish.
I'm calling the down 0-2 Jazz sweep.
Lakers Bench Weak | 3:40 p.m. May 12, 2008
Kobe may rock and can take on any Jazz backup, but player for player, the Lakers bench dries up before the Jazz bench does.

Go Jazz You Can Win This Series You Have What It Takes. So What If Kobe Is The MVP This Year Our Team Is The Better One.

Boozer has reason to be grateful for the bench. He had another poor shooting effort, and didn't play particularly good defense on Odom and Gasol.

All I can say is, I am glad we traded for Korver, who has been far more valuable than Gordan Brickack, and Ronnie Price, who has proven he is an even better backup than Dee Brown; better defense and more control under pressure situations.

We have to hope for a similar effort in Game 5, and we have to hope the refs don't hand L.A. 50 freethrow attempts.

We'll see what happens. A superior effort, and no ref interference, and the Lakeshow might find itself suddenly on the ropes, heading back to the most hostile arena in the NBA.

(GRIN!)

Kobe Rocks? Kobe whines! That why they shoot 50 free throws.
CougarKeith | 4:44 p.m. May 12, 2008
The Jazz lost game 2 because of what I said all BYU season long, "They can't make the free ones", this cost the Jazz game 2. Kobe isn't a "Whiner" he is a good actor and draws fouls. Refereeing in the NBA is one big reason I am not a "Big Fan" of the NBA, it is a crap shoot each game as to which way the ref's are going to lean. "No Contact Sport", yeah right! The Jazz bench MUST contribute the entire game, from opening tip to closing buzzer, IF THEY DO, the Jazz will win. The other thing is this, The Starters MUST PLAY TIGHT DEFENSE!

I would seriously hope that Kobe could take on a bench player, sore back or not. Unfortunately for him, he really tends to disappear when things get tough. The great players change things when the going got tough.

I agree that the "NBA power brokers" want another "celtic--Lakers--Dynasty, like it was when I first started watching Basket-ball, but just remember this, the New Orleans Jazz are back again
and I'am sure the Jazz are going to be in the mix.
only this time it will be the Utah Jazz. but let me caution all of you Laker or Jazz fans, the spurs are still in contention. the are the champions remember!!? everyone seems to be counting them out, but take it from me , they are very much a team of champions, the team to beat!
mao vancouver | 5:45 p.m. May 12, 2008
can you amagine if you put some of prices hart in Boozer what you would get
Sokol | 5:56 p.m. May 12, 2008
At this point, I am so happy that the team I support
has not been swept, is not afraid of the Lakers, and
in my opinion has a better unit than the FINALS JAZZ
teams, I am giddy.

good luck to work hard hard work good luck

jazz are very good and work hard
need win win
Lakers are still being Crowned.. | 6:48 p.m. May 12, 2008
...by ESPN and the rest of the media. No one believes the Jazz can win in LA and that yesterday's win was a fluke because Bryant was hurt.

If there was ever a time for the Jazz to show up big in a game it would be Wednesday.

Come on Deron and crew--YOU CAN DO IT!!

Price is a freaking stud. I bet walton is still feeling stupid.

first let me say my sonics suck but & im not a jazz fan, BUT i respect thier play.me and some buddies watched the game from their hotel in seatle. they are from sacramento and dalas tx. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?? the freaking refs tried to hand that game to the lakers!!! We were blown away by the terrible calls against the jazz ( in thier home court) there surely has to be a conspiricy against the jazz OR more like it one for the lakers. The NBA should be embarassed by the terrible calls down the stretch. I thought the refs were going to wrentch thier hands when the lakers couldnt convert. YOU jazz fans should be proud of your great team and raise some HECK about how pourly you were treated. Iam afraid that down in LA the home cooking from the refs will out do you r team unless they are on their best game and la is off. YOU all should be outraged by the NBA ref treatment of your team.
Re; Supersonic Fan from AS | 8:22 p.m. May 12, 2008
I so agree with Supersonic fan, the NBA is being stupid about the JAZZ, they should just restore basketball to its original and pure way, the fun way we all come to know and love. Instead, it's all about money and greed and the NBA just thinks that they have to get a Lakers vs. Celtics Finals going by being unfair to any teams going against those two teams or any "small market" teams like the Jazz. The Jazz are the greatest example of playing basketball with team effort and they deserved to be treated better. Let's show the NBA that hard work, not money, is what earns teams a chance to win a championship.

GO JAZZ!

OK the Jazz had to play phenomenal basketball AT HOME to squeak out two close victories. The Lakers will win this series, Kobe is the best and the jazz cannot keep up with the lakers
Re:Re; Supersonic fan | 9:39 p.m. May 12, 2008
He's no Supersonic fan is a poser Jazz fan trying to act like he doesn't have a dog in this fight. Being impartial, ya sure dude we believe you.
Refs | 9:41 p.m. May 12, 2008
Jazz fans are always such babies. Always crying about the refs. You shot more free throws this last game and still barely won in overtime. Excuses are for losers. Quit your crying and complaining. The Jazz can never stop in shooting guard from scoring and when you add that with being the #1 fouling team in the NBA you are going to be sending the MVP to the line a lot. I respect the Jazz but not their fans. When you combine BYU and Utah fans you get the worst fan in the country. A Jazz fan. Lakers will win game 5. Game 6 will be a toss up like the last 2 games. If there is a game 7 the Lakers will win. Phil Jackson 39 and 0 when winning the first 2 games. Deron Williams is a great player (when Derek Fisher isn't guarding him). He hasn't done much when Fisher is on him.

The Jazz seem to have kept up so far. 2-2.
REFS | 10:54 p.m. May 12, 2008
Check the fact the Jazz were the number 3 team despite your Laker fan announcer Hubie saying they were the number one fouling team over and over again.

I like what Barkley said about Kobe that he was only hurt on defense. When he made shots like at the end of the half his back didn't hurt him bad enought to do a cute little idiotic dance before he went into the lockeroom. It was only when he was missing shots or getting stuffed that suddenly the pain was back.
tired | 11:37 p.m. May 12, 2008
I too am tired of things. Tired of people always saying that the Jazz are the #1 fouling team. Yes that may be true, but they are also near the top in free-throws taken. Therefore the argument should be moot. I say should, meaning that the calls should even out at the end of the game and, or series. Have they?
pdhitman | 11:50 p.m. May 12, 2008
KB24 is a cry baby like james! Always complain... makes excuses...
Also, the problem with the NBA is that officials are trying to manipulate games. They want to win the team who has "Hype Players". That is like playing 5 on 6.
Jazz Fan | 11:51 p.m. May 12, 2008
I agree with the analysis of Kobe's back pain. I think he's trying to be another Michael Jordan with the flu against the Jazz in the Finals in 98. If they win, he is immortal, if they lose, he was hurt. What a loser. Jazz in six.
There's no "Kobe" in "Team" | 12:00 a.m. May 13, 2008
To Refs,
Wow. Dripping with arrogance, are we? Well, you ARE a laker groupie so that's no surprise. But you wanna know why the LA fans aren't complaining about ref calls? No, it's not because the game is being called fair or anything you're thinking. It's because Kobe's a little girl and gets a foul called if D-Will, Boozer, or anyone so much as breathes too much of his royally MVP-owned air. And that "injury" last game? Absolutely pathetic. All we could talk about here in Utah was how the so called MVP sniffles after taking a jump-shot and not even landing on his back and all of the sudden, Kobe comes down with a case of arthritis in his back. Did Steve Nash whine like a girl scout when he was bleeding all over the place last year? You're right. Excuses ARE for losers. Oh, you might want to change that to 39-1, save some time.

What do you get when you mix arrogance and a someone who can't play basketball?
A Laker Fan
lakerfan | 11:35 a.m. May 14, 2008
getting the calls? Price's block on Walton was a foul and a half... Turiaf's ejection from the game was unfair.. Flagrant 1 at best!! I have seen far worse with little consequence... All I see is that the lakers got beat by a GOOD HOME TEAM... unfortunately, you have to win on the road to win a title. With Utah's inability to do so, I am FAR from concerned about the outcome of this series!!
