I love it! I tried to explain to a couple of my family and friends just last night, why food storage is so important... and why having a 72 hour kit is a "Good Thing". I was also trying to help them understand that I have had a difficult time finding many of the items to store and put in an emergency kit, because the shelves are already bare in many of the stores that sell such items.

They laughed and ridiculed me. Telling me that they don't live their lives in "Doom and Gloom". - It just broke my heart.

They simply refuse to understand. Being prepared, and staying aware of what is TRULY going on in the world today, is NOT living in "DOOM and GLOOM". It is simply being wise enough to know that being prepared is not anything short of peace of mind in troubled times.

Furthermore...

Sticking your head in the sand and ignoring a problem does NOT make it go away. Heaven forbid, we ever really need to live on our 2 year supply (and I believe we will, and sooner than folks think), but at least I will have something for my family.

Looting and chaos will be the way others try to deal with it after the fact... it is not a pretty picture.
