I was at the game and have two things to say...

1) the fan did not threaten the official, and there was no need to call the police

2) the official should have been talked to. he made one of the worst calls at first I have seen in a long time. He changed the outcome of the game.

Bring on Springville! This game on paper looks like a great match up, but not so fast my friends! Who has springville played? Box Elder? Snow Canyon? Both very average teams. Murray is peaking at the right time, and from what I hear, Clark is over rated, and Springvilles bats are sub-par with better pitching. I also hear through the grapevine that Springvilles base running is a joke.This should be another Murray vs Springville laugher....SPARTANS 8 devils 1

thanks to our first baseman we lost that game dropping a foul ball pop up and pulling your foot off the bag, keeping your foot on the bag is a basic fundamental. that homerun should've never happened............Oh yeah change your line-up ROY!

Why the hatred for Springville??? They are a great group of kids and if you want to talk trash about them do it with your name, not anonymously.

Hey "discouraged!!!!"...Get a clue! I was not at the game, but don't you think this HIGH SCHOOL first baseman feels bad enough. I'm sure she was not trying to lose the game- but those things happen- it's only a game. To D-News...you sure put a hard slant on the story towards this young lady at first base, c'mon she is a high school student, someone's daughter, sister, etc. not a professional athlete.

Murray should have not won that game. Roy is a better all around team. The umpire won the game for them by calling the girl safe when she was out. That should have ended the inning but no it let murray score two runs on it. Roy will meet up with murray again in the big touny when it counts and show them who should have won that game in the first place. ROY ALL THE WAY!!! murray deserves to be in the losers bracket and roy in the winners!!

hey "discouraged!!!!" wake up! the throw from the SS pulled the 1st baseman off of the bag. from your tone and syntax I feel safe in guessing you are part of the Roy team. If you are angry because you(or your daughter) is not playing 1st base, get over it.

I have seen a couple of the games in which Roy has played and thier infield is one of the best around. I know a number of schools in SLC that would love to have Roy's 1st baseman.

Watching the Roy coaches, and talking to people who know more about softball than me, I know that they know their stuff.

So if you are a bench-player/parent (and I could be wrong, but I doubt it) quit being a little whiner and go practice and become a better player.

If you don't want to do the work to get bigger, stronger, faster, better - get out of there. With an attitude like that I would think your teammates are tired of hearing from you. Roy's team looks like a fun group to belong to, stop being a poison pill.

I agree the umpires took that game away from roy! they did all they needed to do to win that game. they made the right plays to get the 3 outs each inning. The umpire won that game for them! Way to go murray i hope you feel good about that win! Roy will see you later in the tourney!

Murray is peaking at the right time?? i guess losing to Olympus is a good thing right? Murray is the most unclassy team i have ever seen, what a shame. I hate to see such a great sport ruined by poor sportsmanship. but as for who Springville has played how about tooele?? split the series with them 1-1, how can you possibly say Clark is over rated?? she is one of the best pitchers in the state. Murray better come out swinging or this might be over in 5.

The Spartans just keep on winning and others keep doubting our talent. Roy, Springville, Bountiful and Tooele will all find out the hard way ...... true champions always come through in the end
