Congrats to springville but soon going to get smoked against bountiful. Bountiful is too technical for a scrap team like springville to handle. prediction 3-0 braves win.
What an Article | 9:33 a.m. May 17, 2008
"Springville wasn't really 2 goals better than the Pine View..." Really? Then what were they? Last time I took a math class 4-2=2! What a poorly written, biased article. This is really unacceptable journalism. These are HS kids that played amazingly well from both teams on both sides. Those 3 golden opportunities, solid defense prevented them. I really can't express how disappointed I am with the writing of Mr. Black. I can only hope other schools and sports don't suffer the same insult to their efforts.

Go Red Devils!!!

I'm glad to see that Bertelsen got Cameron Moss into the game for the GWG, good things happen when Mr. Moss is on the field. Let's win State!!!

State Titles... | 12:41 p.m. May 17, 2008
State titles? That's what we're competing for. Teams are different than the ones who have won before. The past means nothing.
Good job | 12:48 p.m. May 17, 2008
Congrats to the "Bertel Boys", they played well and got the win. Exciting game from both sides.

Same score as last year Bountiful/Springville 3-1. Springville has improved from last year, but Utah county soccer is to weak for them to come out and face the depth, talent, and defensive toughness of the Braves...

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

Bountiful have depth??? during region play the most subs i saw them put in were 2 or 3. meaning they don't have much of a bench to work with. their main sense of attack is their throw attempts. thats not to great coming from a so called "champion material" team. real teams have composure on the ball find the open pass and feed the ball through combo work. not off throw ins.. oh yeah and defensive toughness?? their center backs have no composure on the ball all they do is boot the ball up and hope for the best. Bountiful may beat springville but whoever comes out of the top bracket will have the best of the bottom.

That was a great game, both teams play well. Springville's defense really played tough. Your keeper is one of the best in the state, he proved that during the game. The defensive play by #17 of Springville to save the goal, was one amazing play. Good luck in your games, go Utah County teams.

the springville soccer team is one of the better teams or the best team there is a player good at corners.
Fix your field | 9:02 p.m. May 18, 2008
Aparently this isn't allowed-but I will try again anyway- This field was a disaster- Even Springville's own announcer apologized for the mess the field was in.. Get it ready so that it shows what a great school and program you have. State playoffs are important- PLEASE have it ready!

We can all remember that ultimately, the sports writers, fans, and commenters here can have opinions. But the outcomes of all the games are between the teams on the field. Way to go for all those who have made it thus far! It feels good to be positive and to win.
The field | 3:15 p.m. May 19, 2008
The red devils know it's terrible, but it's not their fault. It's the football team's. The dead grass was burned in by past students as a prank, and the trenches obviously weren't dug by the coach. They admit it's an atrocious surface.

But both teams have to play on it. Don't forget that.
re"the field" | 4:12 p.m. May 19, 2008
You're right both teams do have to play on it-but one team plays on it all year and the other one plays on a turf field that is level on all sides, etc.. Not saying PV wasn't out played-just making a statement-that is why homefield is definately an advantage..
