Woods Cross second in B Division and the Braves proved to be the class of the entire state. Davis County lacrosse is where it's at. Kudos to Jordan as they were a classy bunch in defeat. They have a great program and to beat them was a big task.

That girls game was amazing! Murray and PC put on quite a game. It was probably the most exciting game of the year in lacrosse and those girls can play! Great job to the girls.

lets be honest if you had watched any of the braves games all year you would have seen this coming. i mean lets be honest with a average win margin of around 9.5 goals its pretty hard not to see them as the most dominant lacrosse team in the state.

lax in davis county and utah county is not legit, the only serious lax in utah is in salt lake, this is the first time bountiful hasn't choked in the playoffs and lone peak may have gone undefeated but what quality teams did they beat? bountiful lost to pc who got killed in the quarters...lets be honest legit lax is in salt lake

I was highly impressed with Lone Peak's play. They are a great time and a lot of fun to watch. With one of the largest lacrosse programs in the state they really showed what they were made of this season.

serious lax (salt lake) = "didn't win championship"
lax in davis and utah county = "won championship"
you can have your "serious lax" anytime!

Hey let's be honest - I,too, found the chest thumping from some Braves fans a little hard to take - but be a stand-up guy. You've got to give the props when they're deserved. Take three seconds and look at Bountiful's schedule - look at the scores. There are great teams in Salt Lake to be sure but I'm not really sure what 'honest legit lax' means. I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with being a sore loser.
Scoreboard. Like it or not.

Three cheers for open enrollment in Utah!! I seriously hope that the Bountiful team all called Greg Cullis and thanked him. He is the real reason why they are champs.

Who is Greg Cullis? I'm not quite sure what you're implying.

LaxFan,
I'm sure Greg Cullis was a great coach - but - as a parent of one of the Brave players I believe Marty Westcott and David Jordan (coaches)deserve the bulk of the credit - it may have something to do with the talent and hard work of the players too. And - seriously - you really have to get over this open enrollment thing - it's just so pathetic and sad at this point. I know that won't convince you - doesn't matter. We parents are really proud of the boys and the people who helped make the season possible. That's all.

Bountiful (Davis County Lacrosse "not legit") Verse Judge (Salt Lake Lacrosse "legit") Bountiful won 15-0. There is no way you can say that salt lake lacrosse is on a much higher level than anywhere else. Besides look at Bountiful's schedule. They beat some salt lake teams twice this year.

There ya have it, the Lax Swami has spoken. Game over, the end.

Bountiful Pwned Noobs, Owned Noobs, and really killed Judge

I'd be interested to know how many of the players on these top teams also play other sports (football, etc). Just wondering.
Also, Does anyone know what it's going to take to get this sport sanctioned by the UHSAA?

Sanctioning is in the works. However, sanctioning is not all it is cracked up to be. First off, there will be a huge turnover in coaching. Sanctioned sports coaching slots get offered to district employees first. Of the 4 teams that are officially sanctioned right now, I think only Dave Allen at Judge is not a school employee. Also, travel would be greatly regulated. Teams must only play other teams that are sanctioned. No more playing Idaho, Nevada or many SoCal teams. It would also be harder to start a new team. Alot of ADs do not want to spend more money on another sport. Right now, it is not up to them, as the teams run themselves. Being non sanctioned is a little more work, but autonomy is well worth the hassle.
dlaxer6 | 4:45 p.m. May 22, 2008
which 4 teams are "officially sanctioned"?
Laxfan | 8:42 p.m. May 22, 2008
The 4 private schools. Judge, Waterford, Juan Diego, and oakley. Also, the Utah lacrosse association would have to do some major restructuring. 75-90% of the ULA's operating budget comes from the profits of the Boys high school league.
