"Raising the bar" certainly does not apply to BYU's baseball team. This is a program going nowhere fast. The program has been in decline for awhile now. While it may be tough to compete against warm weather programs, the skill level, fundementals and pitching show no reason to be optimistic in the future.

time for a change in cougartown. baseball use to be one of the signiture sports at BYU. Title 9 has ruined baseball at byu. offering 25% schlorships to players will never fix the problem.

Kudos to Utah for beating our mediocre baseball team. However, we did claim the biggest prize by claiming the Desert First Duel Trophy due to our domination by our Football and Basketball teams.

Totally! Ya, Kudos to that! Ha, that's just some dumb way to make the rivalry more fun and marketable. It doesn't matter. we get the prize for having more guts and less excuses and less self righteousness.

Yep, all that matters is the baseball team helped seal the trophy between the two schools for getting the most points, that means by winning the most. BYU baseball team helped get that done. Either team will lose to the leader in this tourney anyway.

Stop using the word dominate! Dominate is what the Urban-led utes did to you folks, not two years of last second plays that let you squeak out a win. I think the combined margin of victory in basketball was 13 points, thats not domination! If it is, you cougs better hope you don't squeak it out next year, or it'll be marked under the loss column!

i agree with ppd...time to change venues and support a division 1 ice hockey team like air force has. baseball is no longer popular with the youngsters due to soccer. baseball's days are numbered worldwide. hockey is up and coming and far more entertaining.

Time for Vance to go. This team was an embarrassment. We need to raise the bar for the baseball program to match the level of other BYU sports. We can and should win in baseball again. Let's start anew now.

Good call Gretzky. Baseball is SOOOO lame. Hockey and/or Lacrosse is where it's at. The Utes and Cougars should convert those programs from club to varsity. Baseball can drop down to club status.

Over the years BYU could always count on winning baseball games. I've been surprised to see all their loses this year. I know Y fans hate this but is nice to see the Utes finally win some baseball. If its true title 9 as ruined baseball at the Y maybe they should cut back on some of the gmnastics scholorships! Have you Y fans even noticed they always have about 20 girls when most schools only have 12-15? Take a look!

Don't sweat the zoobies abuse of the word "dominate". Its pretty obvious they teach a alternate version of the English language down there.
