The word on the street (the internet) is that David Cook won the competition, not Archuleta. Yes, Archie definitely performed better in the finale, but voters had already decided their favorite. David Cook's style is more popular among American Idol voters.

The word on the street, eh???? everybody can make their guesses but "the internet" has no idea who actually won. And you won't find out until tonight.

It seemed like Cook didn't try very hard last night. I like him, but I like Archuleta better. I hope Archie wins!

I knew the result the moment Simon winked at Cook during the comments and end that with telling America he's one of the nicest guys he's ever met. He did exact same thing with UK Idol and she won. You know Simon prefers Cook, right?
