I really enjoyed reading Rebecca Palmer's article in the Deseret News today. The Workers Compensation Fund has done a lot over the years to emphasize that “Safety Pays”. The Workers Compensation Fund has highlighted various people and organizations in the quest to reduce injuries and illnesses. Some believe that the public sector has a hard time building a safety culture due to their structure. Mr. Bryce McEuen has shown he can work with the heads of the different organizations in Sandy City to save the city money and to increase productivity due to fewer injuries. He appears to have found it is better to work with Workers Compensation Fund proactively to save time and energy on increasing insurance costs and lawsuits in a city that has grown significantly over the past ten to 16 years. Thanks to the City Council and Mayor for supporting Mr. McEuen and all supervisors in this significant task. I am grateful for the Workers Compensation Fund to continue emphasize safety, especially during the June national safety month.
