I hope this is not a scam, taking advantage of vulnerable people.

I know it works. I've been teaching yoga for 8 years. I see the results daily.

I have suffered from Lupus since 2002, yoga not only hurts my joints but puts way to much pressure on my already unstable back, knees and wrists. This is definately not for everyone!!!!! Now spinning is the only way to go. No impact on my joints and a great cardio work out!!

Not a scam! My hubby actually went to see Doctor Vincent, but we live to far for him to take the yoga and we wish there were more classes just for MS patients.

I like pilates better than yoga since there isn't so much stress on my back too. Like Anonymous said it's not for everyone. But then everyone's body and the way the disease affects them is different. I did water aerobics (which is suppose to be good for joints) for a while and that absolutely killed me. I think any form of moving is going to be good in the long run. Just knowing when to stop or not push ourselves is the key.

Anyone who has M.S. knows one of the biggest struggles is finding how to exercise without exacerbating symptoms. For those people that find yoga works well - that is fantastic news & should be shared because it may help others. While it may not be the answer for 100% of MS patients - it is very common for MS sufferers to find great relief with yoga. After years of treatments for my MS, changing to a raw food diet has made the most remarkable improvement - I have reversed my symptoms and maintained. Stay tuned with your doctor and keep trying to find what works for you.

I have been looking for a Yoga studio in my area that has experience with MS patients for 1 1/2 years. I was thrilled to read about the It's Yoga program for us, and then saddened again when I read it was in Provo. I live in Saratoga Springs. Does anyone know of a yoga class or program closer to us out here? Thank you for any input.

I just noticed this dialog re the yoga & MS article.

Dear anonymous
"I hope this is not a scam, taking advantage of vulnerable people".
How exactly would this be considered a "scam"?
I am sorry you would entertain such a negative concern and would invite you to become informed about the topic(s) to which you refer. Yoga is just what it has been for many years and MS is a medical condition which affects many. Studies have shown some benefits for MS patients when they practice yoga. This has been studied and published in respected medical journals. Where would the "scam factor" be? I wish you peace and good health, whoever you may be.
