Darn!

Now there won't be as many staff to work on stories that tell us that the economy, especially the Utah economy, is doing just fine.
Hmmm. | 1:53 a.m. June 19, 2008
I wonder if they are hiring behind the scenes at the KJZZ Cafe?

I told them it would be a 25% cut.
They have the Ross Overdrive automation that has allowed them to cut the studio staff and TDs.
KSL & KUTV have the same automation, so look for cuts at those stations.

With some of the people they let go, the quality of 4 news will soon match KJZZ Cafe. Sad to see but inevitable when the bean counters are in charge

The sad thing is I was one of those who were laid off and I really feel bad for the company. Matt JaQuint seems to care more about making him and his bosses money (who already make bank) than about the morale of the company. I wouldnt be suprised if the remaining employees all just pick up and leave altogether, like I should have. I guess loyalty doesnt mean much anymore.

Sad to see people loose their jobs but I think someone moved your cheese.

Ya'll should have seen this coming. There are so many places to get your news now and it comes accurately and when you want it with no tacky local car salesman commercials.

Local TV news is old, tired, broken, inaccurate, boring and too light weight to continue to matter. All this in an environment with so many other places to get your info and your entertainment. I can get everything I need to know about the weather on my iPhone, and a lot better info on local news online.

I for one am not a big fan of any TV news but everybody knows CH4 is number 3 in a dying market. Sure, my parents will continue to fall asleep on the couch watching KSL TV news at 10pm, but the rest of us are just waiting for Leno.

Best of luck in your new careers guys.

The problem with Channel 4 are the anchors.

Biggest problem with KTVX channel 4, they are the only local station that does not televise news or programming in high definition on DISH. I will only watch High Def!!
