Why spend the $350,000 it would cost for a company to level the tee boxes when the superintendent will do it over the next few years for a fraction of the cost. Their superintendent is really turning that place around. I'd rather play the greens there than entrada, hidden valley, glenwild, The Country Club, or anywhere else in Utah for that matter.

But how will they treat golfers? My biggest complaint about courses in Utah (I have no reference for anywhere else) is that unless you play a certain course daily-weekly, you are treated like trash. If you don't know the employees and professional personally, why do you even show up? At least that's the attitude I get.

The problem with Fox Hollow (Tri City) always has been and always will be a poor design. Trees right in the middle of the fairways? I'll continue to play somewhere else, thank you.

You don't like trees? Go to Soldier Hollow. You think there is a lot of trees now, you should have seen Tri City 20 years ago. Rick has a great staff

Fox Hollow will take the pepsi challenge with any layout around. Trees make that place. Old school traditional design to a tee. Sure they have a lot of work to do but give em time. Don't like trees go to the ranches, sleepy ridge, talons cove, cedar hills, thanksgiving point and enjoy frying when you don't have any trees to get some shade under.

Any improvement will drastically help, including getting rid of that incredibly majestic name, Tri City, what an imagination. Now to the long and oh! so boring layout.........

I grew up on the course and watched in turn into a ho hum course only due to how well it was maintained, therefore it attracted more and more hackers that have no idea what a course should look like. I give John Hansgen and his crew props every time I see them on the course for how they have turned it around. Fox Hollow will be one of the top rated courses in Utah within 5 years. As for the Trees comment, What a idiotic thing to say, Have you ever played a Country Club without Trees? No you haven't beacause trees are what makes a course difficult and challenging. Has anybody noticed that they are only building Links style courses anymore for the Public? Well it is related to the price of Land. The newly developed courses dont have any Trees because it is to much of an investment to buy that much property with Trees on it. I am so glad to hear that I wont be seeing the likes of you at the course Cry Baby.

I wish them luck and hope for more sucsess. The problem is several poor holes and just a helter skelter design. Better conditions will help but right now its one of the worst in the valley.

Wasatch Golf Course in Midway is one of the prettiest courses you will find and Michael Jordan's top ten courses! I am from Midway and also Park City and have player all of the courses in Midway and also Glenwild and a few in Park City. None of the courses down in Utah Valley compare, except for I have to be honest I really really enjoy Sleepy Ridge. I have never played Fox Hollow, but it sounds like people really do not like the course layout and design

My dad happens to be John Hansgen and I think he did an amazing job on Fox Hollow(Tri City). Before, the golf course was plain, dry, and bare. With his help it turned from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan! I love how green and lush it is. The foxes and different wildlife such as fish and interesting birds add so much and make it my dream golf course. Thanks dad and keep up the good work. You rock!

You make it sound like the contractors were a bunch of saints, working just for the love of work and civic pride. You mentioned the corporate golf passes, which, at $5500/pass/year totals $66000 for one pass for 12 years. Sure, the contractor had to eat the upfront cost, and the course avoided it, but both agreed on a deal that was acceptable to them. Quit over-reporting stories!

Sure, "Fox Hollow" is an upgrade from Tri-City, but with $4.5 million, they should have allocated a small amount of money to flattening the tee boxes and berming between fairways to create a little separation between holes.
