I guess this is just one more of the many unexplainable mysteries of the LDS Church that we have to accept by faith.

Chris Plummer, will you ever give the negative digs a rest? Do you not have anything better to do with your life?

In the Book of Mormon situations, Jesus Christ was physically present when the prayers were offered. Jesus Christ is our Mediator and Advocate in our relationship to our Heavenly Father. If Christ is present, then it is allowable to pray directly to Him. If Christ is not physically present, then we pray to the Father in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ.

It's amazing there are answers to every problem, aor assertion people (nonmormons, antimormaons) have made with the church or it's leaders.

And it's really not that hard to find them.

It's disappointing, jerry did not give examples and the context when make claims people pray to jesus.

Just like in x-files the answers are out there.

It is actually good to see so many (2) differing view points here on the Deseret News site... reminds me why I left utah for caliFORNIA~!

Easr Bay, I'm glad you found a place you could feel accepted. So why keep on reading the Deseret News at all? I've noticed that the major California papers have no particular slant to their news. You'd be better off exposed to that brand of pure, tolerant, and unbiased dialogue, I would think.

RE TOM,
You know you have to check in on your home city now and then. Although I admit it is depressing to read the comments sometimes.
