This just proves that the saying "Second Liar hasn't got a chance" Its to bad people have to say they have something and then when its time to cough it up it just disappears. Its like Mr. Anderson said the "Charges were ridiculous" You American Fork people who said they had the video tapes...All I can say to you is "What goes around comes around" The egg on your face may taste better with salsa. I guess AF isn't that perfect little world after all. Congrats Mr. Asiata and Mr Anderson for proving just that!!!

Should have never went this far. Trying to call this kids bluff, give me a break AF authorities! How can you not provide anything in 30 days? Im glad this kid is off the hook!

Looks like this kid just dodged a bullet. Hopefully it will be a wake up call for him and he won't end up another thug on the street. If he wasn't on the team, he never should have been anywhere near the sidelines or the field. Sounds like a punk that got the opportunity to get a few blows in during the melee and took the opportunity. Where is he going to college? Count your blessings young man, you don't know how lucky you are and how different your life would have been with a conviction on your record. Make the most of the new start.
And for the record, no, I don't have any affiliation w/ AF.

But not for Coach Layton, for corraling a Pheasant with it's wings clipped BY AF STUDENTS and hurting this fine man's reputation.
I guess in AF it's more about what zip code you live in, than what you do.
The legal system in small town Utah at work.

Innocent until proven guilty! I happen to know Shaun Asiata and his brother, and they are both fine young men. The comment about him "becoming another thug on the street" is prejudice. Just because some is from Hunter High or West Valley doesn't mean anything, myself being a graduate from there. This city gets it reputation from illegitimate charges like this one. As some one who works for the courts and knows Judge Maetani, he did the right thing. Based on evidentary procedures it was what needed to be done. I would like to see the other team have charges for those who were involved as well. There should be no reason that Shaun was the only individual charged, it demonstrates a clear bias from that prosecutor. I'm glad this is over and justice prevailed.

All those in favor of boycotting AF football this year say I..... All those opposed... The voting is unanimous in the affirmative. AF get a clue and start playing fair and leave it on the field.

Hey 'Just another example' you follow the news recently. West Valley is unfortunatley deserving of it's poor image. Why in the hell City leaders allowes its new City to be named 'West Valley' instead of Oquirrh Valley or Pleasant Green still baffles me to this day. Anything with -West- attached to it in this County will always suffer an image problem. Thank your City leaders (1980) for aiding your City's bad reputation. It's not like you needed any help.

I don't know why the tapes were not produced. I know and I know that this young man knows what he did. He did in fact stomp on an AF players head! I watched it! I was there! As far as boycotting AF football that is completely stupid! Tyronne, you have no idea what your talking about! We left it on the field! We won the game 41 - 19.
I realize Shaun was probably reacting to the situation the way most adolescent kids would and he did. He made a bad choice! He is probably a good kid. No doubt. But, he made a bad choice in the heat of the moment. Therefore he should pay the consequence. Man up. Admit what you did and move on with life.

I've attended Hunter athletics as a visiting team on a number of occasions. I've thought for years they should drop athletics completely because neither the teams or the fams or the student body can show any kind of sportsmanship or even rational citizenship. Shame on Hunter for years of bad behavior and the system looking the other way because of the minority image.

leave it on the field???? af left everything on the field. What did hunter have to lose by fighting? nothing! oh no some of there players got suspended from school..... af suffered more consequences no doubt. The whole pheasant thing shouldnt even be a ig deal. i do feel really bad for the coach from viewmont. All this stuff is over reacting. The pheasant, the fight..... who cares! honestly! but when you tell af to leave it all on the field. that is exactly what they did do. They played with more heart than any team i have seen in this decade. Hardest hitting group, most intense, they didnt care what people like you were saying negatively about them. i wish they won state. And to tell you the truth im just a high school football fan. not favoring anyone.

and I attended Hunter High School and was a part of some poor sportsmanship. The reputation is deserved.
