I'm shocked, absolutely shocked about this study. And all this time I thought that war was patriotic and would give rise to children who loved America and were overly patriotic with good family values. My bad.

I can't believe someone thought there needed to be a study to declare that kids exposed to violence would be effected like this. Duh!

I'm against abortion. After children are born, they are on their own. I don't want them to think they are entitled to a chidhood free of violence or illness.

@Tom Paine. They're talking about kids IN war zones. The U.S. is not a war zone. Please try to break out of your one-dimensional mindframe and keep your eye on the ball.
As has been mentioned, the conclusions aren't surprising. Living in such a condition would certainly give rise to hostility. It's unavoidable, and one of the reasons war is such a terrible option.
As to those who perpetually criticize scientists for conducting studies which seem to confirm the obvious, the point is two-fold: assumptions are often confirmed, but sometimes the results are surprising. If scientists only investigated and documented the obvious, things would be missed. In fact, it's when they do debunk common assumptions that we most take note and ooh and aah. Even when assumptions are confirmed, they are usually clarified, simplified, or delimited. Thank you to our scientists.
