I disagree with the Pope on doctrine. But I agree that we cannot consume with abandon. We better learn to stretch resources or we'll have nothing to consume.

To Not Catholic,
What doctrine did the Pope preach in Sydney that you disagree with? And what does that have to do with the TRUTH that he DID preach about the importance of conservation and caring for this home we call the planet earth?
You sound like a Mormon who begrudgingly must concede that the Pope you despise so much actually said something inspiring. Am i right?

"The Earth is Full and there is enough and to spare".. If we all shared the bounty equally.
But there is never enough for one person's greed.
God made such a beautiful and varied earth for us to live on and it should be protected.

This is Not Catholic. In answer to your question, I am an Evangelical Christian. You probably don't know what that means, so you probably have no idea what doctrinal differences I have with Catholics. Read your literature and compare it to mine. Then you will see.
I stand by my comments. Even with doctrinal differences I can recognize a wise statement.
Get over your Mormon hatred. Evangelicals have doctrinal differences with Mormons too, but I choose not to take shots at them like you did. It seems like you jumped at the chance to blame them for your own insecurity. Go to mass and learn to be a Christian.
